    INTERVIEW: JASMINE LEE

    December 29, 2015

1)What's the last book you read?
The Mating by Nicky Charles...It’s like the 8th or 9th time I’ve read it ;)

    2)Who's your celebrity crush?
Tom Hiddleston he plays Loki in The Avengers. <3 him!!!

    3)What's your favorite book?
    Little House On The Prairie

4)Do you plan or go with the flow when it comes to writing?
I just let it flow. I know not to force it and just let come as it pleases.

5)What inspired you to write the Skipping Stones Series?
Nothing actually. I just sat down and made it up and wrote it.

6)Which book was hardest to write, Emily or Unexpected?
Emily. I think because it was all her POV and I kept wanting to write from other POV’s but knew it would give away the ending if i did. It took me 7mnths to write Emily and 4mnths to write Unexpected.

7)Tease us! What are you currently working on? What can readers expect from your next book and/or future works?
Haha...Believe it or not I’m writing a total of 5 books right now. ‘Welcome to Brokenville’ which is a mix between Alice In Wonderland and Nightmare Before Christmas. Then ‘I wish…’ that one is bit hard to explain as it’s still forming. They’ll both be coming out in 2016. And then I have a 3 book series that I’ve been working on for awhile now. It started out as 1 book but as I wrote it and finished Nothing Ever Lasts and Unexpected, I seen that Trace and Calvin would end up with their own books as well. And their stories intertwine with the 3rd book. But I won’t release them until all 3 are finished and ready to go.

    Synopsis:
    Emily (Book 1)
I thought I was in love, I thought I was happy, I thought everything was perfect.
But then I found out my husband of six years was having an affair. I knew it had to be a dream, but it wasn’t. So now I’m left at square one, only now I’m a single mom also.
Dating isn’t easy but it’s especially not easy for a single mom of twin boys, with a soon to be ex-husband who’s still around. I mean what else could happen?
Throw in a hot prison guard and my ex-husband the mechanic and you have a whole mess of problems, and its only Monday!
What am I supposed to do?
    Unexpected (Book 2)
In Emily you got part of my story. But now in Unexpected you get the rest of it.
True, it doesn't go the way I planned and I don't end up with the man I had planned on. But then again, that's why they say to 'expect the unexpected.'
I have a choice to make...
Do I choose my past? Or do I choose a path that is uncertain?
Only time can tell in the end. I have to choose before feelings are hurt and it's too late, causing me to loose everything I hold dear.
    Sincerely,
    Emily

Michelle Irwin has been many things: a hobbit taking a precious item to a fiery mountain; a young child stepping through the back of a wardrobe into another land; the last human stranded not-quite-alone in space three million years in the future; and a time-traveling madman in a box. All of these feats and many more were achieved through her voracious reading. Eventually, the cast inside her mind took over and spilled onto the page.

Michelle lives in sunny Queensland in the land down under. A lover of love and overcoming the odds, she primarily writes paranormal and fantasy romance.

I followed close behind her as she walked to her front door. Not knowing we’d be out as long as we were, she hadn’t left her porch light on, so the black beneath the eaves was almost absolute. I could only see a vague outline of her body. Yet, I could tell the she was regarding her feet with great interest.
    “Well—” I started.
“Would you like—” Alyssa said at the same time, slowing raising her head to look at me.
    “You go,” I told her.
“Would you like to come in for a drink?” I could see her eyes clearly despite the intervening night. They stared at me, pleading silently for something as she continued to play with the ends of her hair.
I nodded before raising my hand to still her motion. The movement drew me closer to her and I couldn’t resist the call of her lips. I dipped my head and drew her lower lip between mine, sucking on it for a second before rolling my tongue across the plump surface. In response to my touch, her eyes closed, and her breath hitched. My own breaths were unsteady, but it wasn’t like the gasping lack of oxygen of my panic attacks. This was a type of breathlessness I enjoyed. The type I only ever experienced around her. I stepped back away from her, ready to follow her inside. In the darkness, the memory of her taste lingered on my mouth.
With shaking hands, Alyssa pulled her keys from her bag and raised them to the door. The tremors grew more pronounced as she struggled to find the right key. Just like I’d done earlier in the day, I put my hand over hers to steady it. The thrill that passed between us was almost too much to handle. I stepped closer to her, pressing my front against her back. She leaned into me, and all thoughts of keys, doors, and drinks were forgotten.
The black of night surrounded us like a blanket, cocooning us in our own private world. With my free hand, I brushed her hair over one shoulder before I pressed my lips to her neck. She murmured my name as she moved her head to grant me better access.

Review : Scared of Exposure by Jacqueline Abrahams

    December 28, 2015

There are fairy tales, you know the ones, which end in happily ever after. Where the princess rides off into the sunset safely pinned to a majestic white horse by her gallant knight. Yes, there are fairy tales.
    And then there's us.
New York is my fresh start, my third in as many years. A fresh start; with no assholes in my near future. That's right, you guessed it, two in as many years, assholes that left me with a very strict aversion to romance.
Then I met a guy, a guy who would force me to stay, not to run. A guy who I first encountered fucking someone else in a hallway. He was everything I wanted, and everything I didn't. He was beautiful, and beautifully frightening. And I was the princess that would mend his scars, erase them one by one, until he was whole again. Or so I thought.
Yes, ours is a fairy tale, but not one that you might expect...
    ★★★3 Stars★★★
Mirelle has had a rough couple of months. Deciding to move to Newyork to be with her boyfriend, she got one hell of a suprise when she caught him cheating. Thinking that nothing can possible get any worse, she leaves and heads back to her hometown to be with her sister. Only her sister is not there anymore and the childhood home that they grew up in? Gone. With barely any money, she takes the next bus and heads to LasVegas in search of finding something better.
Chayse has been struggling with the death of his girlfriend for quite some time and his coping mechanism has not been the best. Screw, drink, drink, screw, rinse and repeat. He's hurting but that's the only way he knows how to deal with his grief. Is it the best thing for him? No.But hey you live and you learn and all that comes to a screeching halt when he meets Mirelle.
I really liked how Mirelle and Chayse met. It was somewhat different and I liked their back and forth banter. I also loved that they took their time with each other and it didn't feel rushed. Their relationship came naturally and even though they were both struggling with their own demons, they brought out the best of each other.
This is the third book in the series but it can be read as a Standalone.

Review : Fisher of Men by Phoebe Alexander

Leah Miller has come a long way from her ultra-religious upbringing in Wahoo, Nebraska. A graduate of Cornell, she's climbed the corporate ladder to the position of assistant general manager of The Pearl, a resort in Ocean City, Maryland. She dreams of falling in love again someday but isn't sure if her heart has healed from her last two rounds on the battlefield.
Working a private party at The Pearl, she meets party guest Captain Chris Sheldon, an Ocean City born and bred charter fisherman with a colorful past and even more colorful present. She's shocked when he tells her what kind of party it is, but she can't seem to get him out of her mind. Although there is definite chemistry between the two, their lifestyles and beliefs are at opposite ends of the spectrum. Is there any way Leah can reconcile Cap's lifestyle with her faith? Is there any way Cap can give up the lifestyle he loves for the woman who's stolen his heart?
    4.5 FISH ME STARS!
This is my first Phoebe Alexander book and I really don't know where to start this review except that what interests me to read this book is the blurb and the title itself. It's an understatement when I say that I devoured this book because HELL!!! What the f*uck???what I read just surprised me and opened my mind in a different way.

So this story follows Leah and Cap -- two persons who lived in two different worlds and in different lifestyle who met at one of the large party at The Pearl. Leah Miller, the oldest daughter of three, a small town girl who is brought up in a religious family and community and makes a name in the big city as the Guest Experience Strategist of The Pearl; And Captain Chris Sheldon, charter fishing captain..divorced...had children....and a swinge...
(yay! there goes the colorful past and even more colorful present)..Go figure!

" God doesn't hate sex, you know, He invented sex, after all. He made us to feel pleasure, It's not a sin"

"What if he is right? What if my Good Girl and Bad Girl selves can peacefully coexist?"

Ahhhhh..this book is really perfect when you wanted to read a jaw dropping, mind boggling, panty wetting story. Right from the start you'll be hooked because of how uniquely it is written. The swinger parts..the love..the angst...the steamy hot sex scenes...wow!!!It is very descriptive and any readers could vividly imagine all the scenes..all plots..everything the author wants us to see. Other parts maybe disturbing but it's what makes the story worth reading and edgier. The chemistry and how well balance it is written is undeniable. I even can't believe I enjoyed reading the book. It's way past my comfort zone, any reader would definitely have second thoughts considering it involves a plot where the lead is a preachers kid and the other one is a swinger. Not me, the second thoughts part is vanished the moment I started reading the book much well when I devoured every line as I go through with the story.

    Great job!

Review: Torn Into Pieces by Shelby Reeves

    December 27, 2015

    4.5 I LOVE IT STARS!!!
"Love is risky, but then, sometimes it's the most beautiful thing in the world."
Nothing prepared me as I go through with this book. When I read the Prologue I was like...
Wow..Wait... I guess I need to brace and buckle up myself because I know right there and then this book will give me one helluva ride.
Torn into Pieces follows the story of Ethan and Alexis. Ethan is the brother of Kaylee from book 1&2 of this series, Alexis bestfriend whose husband is the bestfriend of Alexis boyfriend. Both have feelings for each other, but both aren't willing to take the risk. Get the picture?complicated as hell!
"Maybe it has been one -sided all along? I went over there, going to pour my heart out to him, knowing good well it might get stomped on, but I didn’t care at the time. At the time, I was confident he would feel the same way. Now? I have no idea. I’m not planning on holding my heart out for him to trample over anymore."
"I need to stay away. I will only break her heart. Besides, she has Brad, someone who can give her more than I can."
I love reading this book and enjoyed every moment of it. In fact, it took me a while to finish writing this review since I was still on a high from a series of rollercoaster ride of emotions. I say series because, wow! I don't know how Ms. Shelby did it but I was in awe with what I feel as I was reading the book. I was at first heartbroken...then swooning...then wanted to strangle someone...swooned again...felt sorry...wanted to smack someone...bawling like a baby..swooned again and then fell in love. The author really has her way working with the reader's emotions. See, I sometimes hated both the leads but then loved them to the nth level. I love how she writes it in a way that you wanted to put the book down because they infuriate you but you just couldn't because you can't keep from turning the pages to see what will happen next and to know what's really going on. With the twists and turns that keeps my heart beating fast and my mind wanting to seek for answers....wow...just wow...
I could definitely say this book is written incredibly. The moral of the story was portrayed and conveyed well. In the end it's safe to say...
" Love is risky and rewarding. Love is bliss and beautiful. Love is sometimes hard, yet it’s everlasting. And it is always raging in your soul."
And oh did I say this is my first Shelby Reeves' book? This wont be my last.
    A must read!
