I was nine years old when I met Everett Cartwright and claimed him as my best friend. I was sixteen years old when I gave him my virginity.
Now, at twenty, the lines of our friendship have blurred as our relationship shifts into something different.
    Something deeper.
It wasn’t supposed to happen like this.
I wasn’t supposed to fall for my best friend.
He wasn’t supposed to fall for me.
And when we finally confessed our feelings, he wasn’t supposed to have a girlfriend.
But falling in love with my best friend was easy.
It was what came after that almost destroyed us.

Spring Semester is unlike the other two books in this standalone series, who have two heroines in college and fall into a forbidden spellbinding love with their much older partners!

Spring Semester is a best friends to lovers romance that will HAVE YOU HOOKED. It tells a tale of two people who have been the best of friends since childhood, grown up together, and are so deeply and irrevocably in love with each other. But what’s the catch? Because there’s always a catch in being in love with your best friend, right?
     They haven’t told each other.
They aren’t formally committed to each other.
    They aren’t exactly, each other’s.

This story is unlike the rest I’ve read in the ‘friends to lovers’ trope.

When you’re secretly, yet not so secretly in love with your best friend, but don’t want to spill your guts out and outright admit it... that’s Leighton and Everett.

“What we have is sacred, and I don’t think it’s a connection that’ll ever go away.”

While Everett has a dominant, sexy AF personality... Leighton has sassy, fierce personality that matches exactly that, and these two together... off the charts chemistry, angst, lust, anger, hatred, and locked up emotions that you just cannot keep contained.

“I’ve never for anyone the way I feel about her.”

Everett does everything in his right to make Leighton happy, but sometimes, it just doesn’t translate in the way he wants it too. His means are good, but sometimes the actions don’t seem to fit those means.

“She understands me on a level that no one gets...”

Leighton is so driven by the love and loyalty and familiarity that she has so deeply, that she can’t help but be so forgiving, so selfless, and so sure about Everett even in her moments of doubt.

“I’m home. He tastes familiar. Like comfort. Like home.”

Everett and Leighton cross that line between friendship and love many times, even when they didn’t realize it. Sometimes, I wanted to knock their heads together and yell at them to see what’s in front of them, not to miss out on what is right there.

But these two, they were hiding behind their feelings so much, thinking it would shield them from the truth. When the truth is right in front of them, each other. That’s what I loved so much about this romance, the push and pull, the internal battle of the heart, and secret feelings that you just could not deny! You could feel their feelings seeping off the pages, see their emotions written through every word, and see their chemistry go off the charts!

QB Tyler writes an epic romance that will hook you right from the start, keep you turning the pages, have you reeling, and leave you completely breathless! She also writes my most favorite heroes and heroines! I fall in love with her characters each and every time and true to her own fashion, she always makes the romance steam level happen!

I love the perfect balance she has between character development, plot/world building, drama/angst, and heat!! I cannot recommend this series enough! Like seriously! I love that we got to see Skylar and Peyton! I also loved the dynamic between Everett, Pat, and Dave! You must read this series, even if they’re all stand-alones because you get to see glimpses of some of your favorite couples!

Tyler always throws in treats for us that way! I cannot praise her enough for this book! Bravo, Ms. Tyler! You blew me away completely! I can’t wait to see what you have up your sleeve next 😉

Release Blitz with Review: Violent Triumphs by Jessica Hawkins

    November 19, 2019

    Title: Violent Triumphs
    Series: White Monarch #3
    Author: Jessica Hawkins
    Genre: Contemporary Romance
    Release Date: November 12, 2019

    Blurb

The highly anticipated conclusion to the “emotional, steamy, and dangerous” USA Today bestselling White Monarch series.

I’ve become a queen to the forsaken, a leader to thieves, and the wife of a man who instills fear in all who cross his path. He was the husband I didn’t want. Now, I can’t fathom life without my king.

I should’ve been ready for anything. Like the caterpillar that feeds on poison during metamorphosis, I was raised in the dangerous world of cartel crime. But nothing could’ve prepared me for Cristiano de la Rosa, his brother’s poison, or the Calavera cartel.

This is still a story about a love strong enough to topple households, unite enemies, and divide brothers. Resilient enough to bring down those who would try to destroy it . . . and selfless enough to make the ultimate sacrifice.

But I was warned, and so were you. Death’s day always comes. This time, it will find what was once a caterpillar is now a butterfly—and hell hath no fury like the White Monarch.

“My husband showed me everyday that he made his own destiny, and that I could make mine.”

Violent Triumphs is the epic, gripping, emotional, beautiful, angsty, and explosive  conclusion to the White Monarch series! And let me tell you, I could not wait for this baby to drop into my Kindle! Ever since the cliffhanger from book two, Violent Ends, I was waiting for more of Natalia and Cristiano De La Rosa.

Their slow-burning, all-consuming, scorching hot, enemies to lovers romance had me hooked since book one, Violent Delights.

And did I mention how much I love mafia romance? It’s my fucking jam!

Natalia’s transformation from princess to Queen was EVERYFREAKINGTHING. She embodied who she was, accepted it, and stood by Cristiano’s side until the very freaking end. Beauty, brains, and bad-aaa is what I’d call a lady like Natalia De La Rosa, and goodness, I love her so much! Seriously, one of my favorite heroines, EVER!

“I’ve waited for you to stop acting like a princess and start thinking like a queen.”

Cristiano is everything you want in a hot-blooded alpha male. His filthy mouth, his don’t fuck with me demeanor, and his tenderness towards Natalie was just so swoon worthy!

“I wasn’t a king until you came along. Me coronaste. You crowned me.”

Their story, their progression, their love... it truly was beautiful as it unfolded in its’ own way. It was long awaited, heartbreaking and painful, intense and passionate. Hawkins truly captured the essence of enemies to lovers through Natalia and Cristiano in it’s purest form. It’s not forced, it’s sometimes not recognizable at first, but it’s there.

“Love is I’d die for you, not would you die for me?”

The White Monarch series, a beautiful masterpiece, is one of my favorite series that I’ve read to date! I don’t know how I can move on from these books, THIS book, and the ending it gave us!! It’s definitely one of those series that I’ll have no issues re-reading and visiting my highlights all over again and again! It’s truly one of a kind! Natalia and Cristiano will always have my heart!

Sometimes you meet people who are out of this world, so you make them a part of yours.
A one-night stand born from vengeance in a foreign land.
An explosive chemistry neither of us could deny.
We signed a contract on the back of a Boar’s Head Pub napkin that said if we ever met again, we would drop everything and be together.
Eight years and thousands of miles later, he’s here.
    In New York.
    And he’s America’s music obsession.

Last time we spoke, he was a beggar with no intention of becoming a king.
But a king he became, and now I’m his servant.
I’m not the same broken princess Malachy Doherty put back together with his callused hands.

    Before she owned me.
    Hated Me.
    Needed me.
    Before I hated her…
    Things were simple.
    We had an understanding.
Bully. Fight. Hate. It’s what we did.
Mind. Body. Soul. It’s how we loved.
I thought nothing would ever change that, until everything did.
    She was mine.
    Always had been.
    Always would be.

If there is one thing that I can depend on when it comes to M.Robinson’s books is that she knows how to bring the angst and drama!!! You know these characters are going to be flawed but you’re going to love them anyway. Your heart is going to suffer some damage, but you know what? It’ll be worth it

Love You Now is the continuation in the tumultuous relationship between Harley Jameson and Jackson Pierce. Sworn enemies before they talk, this duo made the average pranks look like a walk to the candy store. Now told between the past and the present in dual pov’s, we finally get to see if Harley and Jackson can be around each other long enough without someone going into the ICU and if the connection they have, can be something more.

    28430856._SY540_.jpg

With some unexpected surprises, shocking twists and more drama than you know what to do with, this book is guaranteed to keep you on your toes! I was a nervous wreck the first of half of this book and please don’t get me started on the angst because my blood pressure was not normal! As I’ve said before, I love M.Robinson books and I’m such a huge fan of her writing. She has always managed to make her readers feel everything with her words and I love that.

Now I have to say without giving too much away, I had a really big problem with the plot twist and I felt that it was unnecessary because it changed the entire dynamic of a lot of relationships and in return, we were given more drama that was uncalled for and lack of communication. Aside from that, I did enjoy the journey that Jackson and Harley went on and I’m happy with the way things ended. Now as for the other characters that are getting their book? We’re going to need hard liquor, a referee, police escort, an on call doctor, and lots and lots of prayers! And I cannot freakin wait for it!!

Wall Street Journal & USA Bestselling Author M. Robinson loves to read. She favors anything that has angst, romance, triangles, cheating, love, and of course sex! She has been reading since the Babysitters Club and R.L. Stein.

She was born in New Jersey but was raised in Tampa Fl. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D in psychology, with two years left.

She is married to an amazing man who she loves to pieces.

They have two German Shepherd mixes and a Tabby cat.

    EXCERPT:
“Well, well, Mr. Broody. It’s nice to finally meet you. I have to say, Milah hasn’t been that forthcoming about…” He motions up and down my body with a long nail, “you.”
“Oh my God, Pe!” Milah’s eyes are wide when she scans our group. “I’m so sorry. I’m Milah. Tim’s co-teacher.”
“You mean his boss,” adds Hayes, his hands signing along with his words. I make sure to look around to see if anyone saw him do it, but no one seems to care that we’re standing in the middle of the room chatting.
Milah grins. “I guess you could say that.” She doesn’t sign her words though and I wonder if she saw me do a sweep of the place. But when she shakes each of my crew’s hands and introduces Felipe, I decide she didn’t catch it. Of course she didn’t, Tim. Everyone is here trying to have a good time. No one is worrying about if we’re being looked at. They’ve all signed since we walked in which could look to outsiders like any one of us could be deaf.
“So, Felipe, do you have any grungy hallways that seem a little stripper-y?” I snap out of the signing debate when I see Theo half-sign his words to Felipe. Did I interpret that correctly? “I thought we were coming to a strip club—” Milah’s eyes narrow at me and all I can do is smile. “—and I was looking forward to some filthy romps against something that might end up with me needing an antibiotic later.” Have mercy on my soul. I interpreted it correctly. I guess I should be lucky he didn’t say worse.
“He doesn’t mean that,” I say, mostly because it’s the right thing to say. No one needs to know about Theo’s sexcapades this early into meeting him.
“Shut up, Lambros. That’s exactly what I mean. Point me to a good rug that won’t hurt her knees.” This time, Anniston pinches his side and it makes the group laugh. Whether he really means to have a romp against something filthy or just tried to break the ice between all of us, I’ll never know. Theo works in mysterious ways.

Book Review: Second Semester by Q.B. Tyler

    November 10, 2019

    Second Semester by Q.B. Tyler
    img_4682
Serena Mitchell, very unlike her free-spirited sister played by the rules.
Poised, polite and polished, she observed the world behind square frames and a guarded heart.
But then she met Landon West and she learned some rules were highly overrated.
    Fast forward three months:
    Serena Mitchell has changed.
She was in love. With her boss. With her father’s best friend.
A father who is dangerously close to finding out their secret.
This wasn’t supposed to happen. She wasn’t prepared to lose anything at the end of the school year except mind numbing orgasms.
Not her father. Not the love of her life. And certainly not her heart.
Second Semester can be read as a stand-alone and the second in the Campus Tales Series.

Second Semester is the second book in the Campus Tales Series. It's a stand alone novella, but I highly recommened that you read First Semester because you get to see some characters from there in Second Semester!

OH MY GOD! Q.B. TYLER FUCKING KILLED IT! Absolutely KILLED IT! I fell in love with this story by the first page! I cannot tell you all how much I love forbidden AND age gap romances! SOLD, I was completely sold the minute Tyler released the blurb! And that cover? IT'S ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! It's exactly how I envision Serena!

Serena Mitchell has taken up an intenrship at her father, Preston Mitchell's, law firm. Though, what she didn't expect was to be attracted to her boss, Landon West. What she didn't expect was a relationship to form, a secret relationship.
The last thing she expected was to fall in love.
I fell in complete love with Serena! She's innocent, smart, independent, and an all around good girl. She's the total opposite of her sister, Skyler. I found Serena so relatable in many ways. She had a quirkiness about her that I couldn't help but love! And also, I fell in love with her innocence, the way she carried herself, the way she had compassion towards others, and her just being her.
That's how you know QB has written such an amazing heroine, the way you're able to connect to her.
Now, Landon West... I was totally swooning over him, HARD. Landon West is a man who's trying to figure out how to balance his life around work, a divorce, and a son who he's on the best terms with. I felt for Landon and what he was going through, and even though he didn't handle everything in the best ways, he still tried. He was very well known around the office, and yet, the moment he locked eyes with Serena, he couldn't beliebe the twenty-one year old who was standing in front of him. He didn't know the magnitude of how attracted he'd be to her. He didn't know the extent of how far they would go.
He didn't know that he'd fall in love with her.
At what lengths will Serena and Landon go to keep this secret hidden from Preston Mitchell? Will they get caught?

I can't tell you how much I loved the progression from the first time they meet and everything else that happened in between. Every time Serena and Landon came together, you can tell that the feelings they had for each other was present.
They may not have said it out loud in many words in the beginning, but it was there.

    It was loud.
    It was clear.
I cannot wait to see what Tyler has in store for us in her future works! I'm invested deeply into her Campus Tales Series, and I never want out!
