When Darkness Ends is the final book in the Moment In Boston Series and we were given something slightly different than we were used to from the previous books.

Going from past to present and told in multiple povs, this story was about a couple who from the very beginning had a few roadblocks set out for them but they made it on their terms. Pearl Daniels never really had it easy growing up but thanks to the love and determination of her Grandmother, her childhood became memorable. Now a College student and working to ends meet, she still has a few issues from her past and the main one is trust. When Ashe Flynn enters her world at warp speed and gives her something she never thought would have been possible for a woman like her, Pearl realizes that this man is truly one of a kind. But not everything can be smooth sailing and this couple is about to learn that painfully.



I liked that this book took on a more darker theme and were given more than one pov. Ashe was everything in this story and if I’m being completely honest, he made it more enjoyable. I sat up a little straighter when it was his turn to tell us his heartbreak and his truth and I only wished that we were given more of those moments because we needed to see them.

Even though I think that the ending was rushed and more could've been done, fans of this series will still enjoy this one. Marni Mann will take you on a journey that you will be glad you took.

Well this was one heck of a journey. I'm emotionally exhausted but I feel like this had to be done. You were put in that place to have the breath knocked out of you in a sense and with that came raw emotions. Frustration, anger, sadness, resentment, loss, triumph and happiness. All of these feelings, all of these emotions, were for a story that showed you the true meaning of what it means to sacrifice something for the most important thing in your life.

Going into this story, I knew that it was going to be a bit of a tough one based on the prologue. My first thought was wanting to know right away how did it get to this point? Then the hero took us back between the past and the present and quite honestly, I wished a few times that he would've stayed in the present because going back? That was when the pain started. We saw those critical life changing moments and we knew… we knew that this was going to hurt and yet we proceeded without caution anyway.



I'm going to be honest and very vague with this review because for a story like this, it has to be done. I really loved the fact that this story was told in the hero's POV because at the end of the day, this was more of his journey. We saw exactly how he felt and the decisions he made in trying to navigate this thing called life and I loved that he did what was best for his family.

Now with that being said, some of those exact things left me frustrated as well and I just wanted to scream one word. One word and a lot could've been avoided including heartache but they don't call it angst for nothing.

If you're a fan of this author, then I think you're going to enjoy this emotional second chance romance read. But I have to warn you,have the tissues ready and the wine on chill!!

Getting to read this series has been one of the highlights and joys of being a reviewer and reader. With each new installment, the stakes get higher, the risks more deadlier, and the bond that all of these characters have with each other, has only solidified. This series just keeps getting better and better and I for one am here for the ride.

I have been going back and forth a little bit trying to decide out of all of the male and female heroes that this author has put out in this series, who are my favorite. I cannot choose!! But I really don't need to and that’s what I love. Every couple was different and they brought something unique to this tight knit group of friends and family. Cass and Leo were the complete opposites of each other but they fit so perfectly well. He was rough around the edges but his heart and his driving force to be a protector is what made Leo, LEO WINTERS.

I cannot say this enough and I don't think I ever will. If you have not read this series, please stop procrastinating and get to it!! I promise that you won't be disappointed if you do.

R.C Boldt never ceases to amaze me when it comes to the depth of her writing. Every detail, every plot is well thought out in her eyes and then she gives it to her readers so we can indulge. The Silencer takes on a more darker and sensitive theme than her previous stories and even though this wasn't my all time favorite read from this author, I still loved that she took on a story like this and made us listen.

Dr. Kennedy Alexandre is the best at what she does in her line of work. With a 87% conviction rating, this woman does not rest until justice is served whether judicially or her own way. Every case is personal for her and even though it makes her want to crawl out of her own skin sometimes, she never stops fighting for the victims. When she gets a high profile case with one of the top FBI's agent, Kennedy knows that from here on out, things are going to get even more complicated and even deadlier.



This story is not for the faint of heart and I'll be honest, I felt like my heart was tore open a few times at the mention of certain things but this author did a wonderful job with portraying this sensitive subject matter. I loved the fact that the heroine was a warrior in her own right. She never wavered when it came to dishing out her own type of punishment and she tried her best to prevent anyone else from having permanent scars that time nor distance wouldn't heal.



Now even though I really liked certain things when it came to this story, a lot of other things quite frankly just didn't work for me sadly. I enjoyed the first half of the book but for some reason when that mark came, everything slowed down and became predictable. There was no element of surprise and suspense and that alone left me feeling disappointed. I was expecting a lot more when it came to the execution of the story and sadly I didn't get that.

I think that if you've read this author's work in the past, then you're still going to enjoy this story but keep in mind that this deals with some heavy subject matter. If you're looking for semi dark mystery romance, then this one might be for you.
