This story was utterly captivating and heart breaking at times. When I read the first chapter I thought to myself: there’s no way this is going to be an easy read. And you know what? I was right. The journey that Jon took was emotionally exhausting and thrilling at the same time. I cheered his accomplishments no matter how little it was, I felt his sorrow and that constant ache in his chest of knowing that there was something missing, and I shared his frustrations when he was just trying to find those pieces that knew was missing.
This wasn’t an easy story, and this was never a feel good romance. It will hurt at times. Some characters will frustrate the hell out of you and make you wish that you could crawl inside of the pages just to shake the heck out of them. I’ve been in that moment with them to the point where I was pleading in my own head for them to make a decision and to stop going on and on about not being good enough so yes, the frustration was VERY real.
The one thing that’s going to take you by surprise and knock you off your feet is how much you’re going to fall for Jon and his other half. From the past flashbacks to the present, the love was still there and the bond was even more unbreakable even if Jon didn’t know it yet. I loved seeing all of those emotions when they were in each other’s presence and neither time or distance changed that. Be prepared to go on a soul shaking, heartwrenching, one of a kind love story that makes you believe in the best type of second chances.
If you’re looking for something different Then “Muscle Memory” is the story for you.
Wow! I just had an emotional-filled rollercoaster and memorable journey with Muscle Memory! Stylo Fantome can definitely write and this one just hit me at the right spots I'm stil-l in awe big time!
Bear with me because this review will be short and quick as I have really nothing to say except the book is not easy to read and the situation and scenes was definitely more complex than it already was. I wouldn't even talk about the characters as I feel like each of them with their own roles played in the story, needs to be met on your own. Know that you can connect with them easily. Each have great impacts and each will bring out several emotions in you. But then, do me a big favor will ya? READ THIS BOOK and be the judge of it. It's not your ordinary love story. It's not even your normal cliche amnesia reads and all the in betweens. This book is something out of the ordinary that whether you're a big Stylo fan or not, all you'll gonna say is, hell yes, bring all the pain together with life and love's complexities. I read it at times clutching my kindle basking all the feels and reliving each moment. I love it because it was written with uniquenes that made me feel so hard. Gah! The feels of this book was overwhelming yet I could not help but let it in my system. And I love it wholeheartedly. It's one of the reason why I love this author's writing style. She did not hold on into this one. She brought all the filthy, the gritty and the bad thrown at us without sugar coating it. It was so hard riding this journey but was so honest and raw. I have embraced it and never once did I let go. Instead, I savored and devoured the book like it's my last meal. And hooray! I wasn't just full, I was satiated.It consumed me!
Overall, I will recommend this book to everyone who needed a new story that will either move you or break you but in the end will definitely touch the very core of you. As always, it's incredibly written just like any other Stylo Fantome's works, but this one got heart. A big one at that. I was moved big time and honestly just the mere thought of it made me want to read it over and over again. I cried, I was pained, I was frustrated, I laugh and I fell in love but I don't want it any other way. Just like my blog tweenie said, it's not a good feels kind of book but I tell you it's one of the best.
"...you sometimes have to forget everything before you can understand what true love really is" , it all just made sense. You had me with this one. MUSCLE MEMORY...It's all in the Muscle Memory. What a powerful message perfectly crafted and delivered. This is one of the reasons why second chance love story never grows old and you're one of the reason Stylo Fantome. Excellent job!
