From USA Today bestselling author Meghan March comes the final sexy standalone set in the Beneath world of New Orleans.
I used to believe there were lines in life you don't cross.
Don't lie. Don't cheat. Don't steal.
Until I learned people don't always practice what they preach.
I turned in my badge and gun and walked away from everything.
Then I got the call no one wants, and I’m back in New Orleans.
What I don't expect is for her to be here too.
Another line you don’t cross?
Don't touch your best friend’s little sister.
She's always been off-limits.
Too bad I don't follow the rules anymore.

Ask me about a book from Megan March that I don't like, and I'll tell you that never in my entire time fangirling over this woman has there ever been one. Meghan can write a book like she was telling you a story of your life but in a much wonderful and brilliant delivery. This is how I see Beneath The Truth. And I wasn't wrong. Again, Meghan did not disappoint. In fact she exceeded my expectations with this one, and I am more in awe of her excellent writing skills and perfect delivery.
So Beneath The Truth is the last book of the series and one I could say, is the best among the books of this series. I love it and from the moment I started reading, I was not just hooked. I haven't put it down even I was at work. I was so lost into the world of Rhett and Ari and I am telling you this, Beneath the Truth is a brilliant book and I will be glad for it to become a movie because it is epic in all proportions.
Now, let me start off by saying I love and adored the characters. And since I read it way behind my blog sister, I bet your ass I am giving her not just the side glance but a death glare because she did not just licked the cover, she also stake a claim on my Rhett and I am a mad woman right now!!! She wanted me to back off but I just can't! This man is every woman's wet dream. Just thinking about him got me a lady boner because he is fucking Rhett and even his name alone has that effect on me. Add up his passionate and honorable ways plus alpha tendencies without being caveman-ish and I was a goner. The thing is, he might be an aplha but he never ever forgets Ari's worth as a woman. Her value and beauty was what matters to him and just not taking his claim in a caveman manner. More than that I love him for what he is, flaws included.
And, ARi!!! Oh.My.Fucking God! This woman will be the death of me. I love her to hard! She is not just sassy and beautiful but brilliant and independent too. My God! I lover her inner voice as well.I just do not know, but I have this instant connection with her. I might have chuckled and love her adorable ways but man I admire her strenght as a woman. Paired up with Rhett and they couldn't be more perfect for each other. I love their chemistry and connection and I love the straightforwardness of their relationship. Together, they fit as one and I could kiss Meghan right now. I can still feel their connection as if they were real. With the brilliant strategically placed emotions of their journey, my ride with them was full of ALL THE FEELS and then MORE. It was Phenomenal and really, I had so much fun and loved it to pieces.
Overall, I will recommend this book. You need not to read the whole books of the series prior to this one, but I suggest you do. The interconnection of all the series made sense more to me and I admire Meghan March for it. As for Beneath The Truth, I try to be as vague with my review as possible because I want you to fully experience this ride without giving too much away. Trust me it's better this way.
This book I tell you, is not just all about swoony moments and scorching scenes, hell- it's not just even about some forbidden vibe because of brother's best friend and little sis. The book touches an issue that will leave marks in your heart and mind with the emotion it brings. At some point it was raw, it's heart breaking. Reading it felt like I was punched in the gut. The thrill and the suspense, kept me in the edge. Revelations, twists and turns had me flipping the pages in anticipation. Reading made my mind racing with so many questions I needed an answer. At some point, I was puzzling the pieces like a mad woman that I am while at the same time was on a high because of Ari and Rhett's sexual tension. But then, there were happy moments too and sweet ones that made me fell in love harder with this story than I thought.
In the end, I cried happy tears of sadness and joy. The weight of the words and the emotions it's associated with, just got me and moved me. And that Epilogue, wow!No words... just WOW! Kudos, Meghan March!
You know that saying “ Save the best for last”? Well those five words couldn’t have been more true for this story. Meghan March layed down the law in this one and she held nothing back so if you were expecting anything less, you’re going to be sorely disappointed. Saying goodbye to this series isn’t going to be easy but you know what they say: “All good things must come to an end”… and how good it was.
Due to the nature of the story and seeing that there’s no blurb, I won’t be going into full details of the plot other than the heroine being the younger sister of one of Rhett’s friends. Besides that, youre getting nothing else from me! What I will say is that Rhett Hennessey is mine. Please don’t cause a scene on this because it won’t be pretty once I get involved. I’ve already licked the cover and laid claim to that man from the moment I read the first chapter and I do not do well with sharing. Obviously I was taking consistent naps in kindergarten when the teachers were going over “ sharing is caring” because Sonya doesn’t share. So now that we’ve cleared up that part, let’s move on shall we?
Rhett embodied what every man strived to be. He was passionate, honest to a fault, and his loyalty knew no bounds. This was a man who would do ANYTHING to protect his loved ones and getting in his way of doing that will only get you an escort to the hospital if you’re lucky. But as much as I loved all of those qualities in him, my absolute favorite thing was the way he fell in love. It was unexpected and loud In a swarm of chaos surrounding them, but it was beautiful. I loved seeing those kind of emotions on full display because this author executed it perfectly.
Arial was one of those female heroines that you couldn’t help but love. This was a girl who didn’t have much going for her years ago and now she has everything. She was humble, self assertive, but she also had this shyness that made her real and likable to not only everyone around her, but the readers as well. This has been one of my favorite series over the past few years and I’m sad that this is the last time I’m going to witness everything that all of these characters have shared and lost but I’m also happy. I’m happy because I got to witness their journey of finding love, forming lifelong friendships and eventually starting their own families as well.
It was a pleasure getting to read this series, but it was an HONOR getting to know these beautiful characters from Beneath their hidden Masks, to their colorful Ink, their Broken Chains, their Beautiful Scars, to their Seductive Lies, their never ending Shadows and finally, what was Beneath their Truth.

Wham. My heart slammed against my ribs as it sped up about twenty beats per minute.
The heat and delicious woodsy citrus scent radiating from his body did good things to me. Things that made me want to do very bad things to him. I wasn’t a seventeen-year-old virgin anymore. I knew my way around a man, but I had to admit, the hipsters in Cali had nothing on a homegrown Louisiana man like Rhett.
When he spoke, he leaned in so close that I could feel his breath on my ear. “You missed that shot on purpose.”
My gaze jumped from the sexy five o’clock shadow shading his jaw to his piercing green eyes.
“Wha-what are you talking about?” I smacked myself mentally when my old stammer kicked in. Of course he would cause it.
“That shot. You missed on purpose. I saw you adjust at the last minute. Why?”
I swallowed the saliva pooling in my mouth and decided to take the safest exit from this situation. Lying.
“Cue slipped.”
His eyes narrowed on me. “You’re lying and you’re terrible at it, just like you’ve always been.” He reached up and pressed his thumb to my left eyebrow. “You get a twitch right here.”
Oh my God. Rhett Hennessy is touching me. And what’s more . . . he knows my tell. He noticed me!
The fifteen-year-old inside me did a terrible cartwheel at the realization. Okay, more of a round-off. With a tumble in the grass to finish. Whatever.
But outwardly, I was trapped in that green gaze until he decided to let me go—or until I came to my senses.
I cleared my throat and sidestepped him. “Whatever you say, hotshot. I need another drink.”
Focusing on putting one four-inch heel in front of the other without biting it, I escaped to the table and reached for the whiskey glass I’d left behind, interrupting my brother and the waitress. They both stared at me as I chugged the contents.
I’d always wondered what it would feel like to have Rhett’s attention, and now I knew. In a word, it was . . . unnerving.
“How’s the game going?” my brother asked.
“Fine.” Keeping my answer short meant he couldn’t tell that I was lying. Heath wasn’t nearly as observant as Rhett.
“You winning?”
Thanking the Lord that Heath obviously hadn’t been watching, I shrugged. “I guess.”
He glanced toward Rhett and then back to me. “The sister I know and love doesn’t lose at pool. Ever. Even to Rhett Hennessy.”
I lowered the glass to the table and straightened my shoulders. “Like they say, things change.”
He nodded slowly. “That may be true about most things, Flounder. But you’re a pool shark and we both know it.”
Before I could respond, Heath’s attention jumped back to the waitress. I took another ten seconds to gather myself, also known as drinking offensively in my mind, before I crossed the floor to face off against my former obsession.
“You all right, Red?” Rhett asked.
“Don’t call me that. And I’ve never been better.”
His gaze dipped to my feet and dragged up my body. “I can agree with that statement.”
Whoa. Who is this guy with the innuendo? A glance at his empty whiskey glass told me he was drinking heavily as well. Was this the booze talking? Or was Rhett Hennessy not just noticing me, but noticing me?
Either way, I had to play it cool. Or at least pretend to play it cool, since it seemed I might fall short.
“Your turn, hotshot. Better not miss, because I’ll clear the table next time,” I said, but my cocky attitude backfired.
Rhett didn’t miss. He sank his balls and then the eight, ending the game almost as quickly as it started. He returned his cue to the rack and turned to face me, all traces of the earlier heat banked, his expression shuttered.
“Game over.”
What the hell just happened?
