Sonya's Weekend Recs

January 27, 2017

Happy Friday Everyone!

Welcome back to Sonya’s Weekend Recs. I’ve been gone for quite some time but I’m happy to say that I’m back. This a new year and all though it’s quite early, there’s been some really amazing stories that I’ve read so far and I can’t wait to share them with you.

If you’re a fan of sexy dark reads, then you NEED to read “Blackwood by Celia Aaron. This book was a ADDICTIVE! I loved the mystery of these characters, the dark attraction, and the way I felt when I was reading. I was on the edge of my seat and I kept questioning who was really the bad guy. Did they or didn’t they? Was the constant question looping around in my mind and I enjoyed every single word of this story. So if you’re brave enough to go into this one, make sure you have your wine ready and the AC up on high cuz it’s about to get hot up in here! You can also read my review HERE.

I dig. It’s what I do. I’ll literally use a shovel to answer a question. Some answers, though, have been buried too deep for too long. But I’ll find those, too. And I know where to dig—the Blackwood Estate on the edge of the Mississippi Delta. Garrett Blackwood is the only thing standing between me and the truth. A broken man—one with desires that dance in the darkest part of my soul—he’s either my savior or my enemy. I’ll dig until I find all his secrets. Then I’ll run so he never finds mine. The only problem? He likes it when I run.

Author’s Note: This is a mystery/suspense romance with violence and explicit sex. Trigger warning.

This is looking to be a sexy weekend so I’m sticking with theme.

Next up is.....

“Love in Lingerie” by Alessandra Torre.

Just by reading the title, I don’t even need to explain myself anymore. This book was sexual tension on crack!!! I’m not even joking. I felt like I wanted to sleep in a freezer until I finished this book that’s how hot it was. But these were some of the best written characters I’ve had the pleasure of reading about and I wouldn’t have it any other way. You will get frustrated, but in order to get to the great, you have to go through a few bumps and that’s what this book was.

I hired her to fix my company, to bring Marks Lingerie back to life. I didn’t expect her to become my friend. I didn’t expect to fall in love with her.

The first rule of business is to never touch your employees. I think there is another rule about not falling for your best friend—a rule against imagining the curves of her body, or the way her breathing would change if I pulled down her panties and unzipped my pants.

Now, I can’t wait any longer. I’m tossing out the rules.

Damn the company.

Damn our friendship.

Damn my fears.
