Synopsis:

Baseball isn’t supposed to be a game of life and death…

The summer that Chase Stern entered my life, I was seventeen. The daughter of a legend, the Yankees were my family, their stadium my home, their dugout my workplace. My focus was on the game. Chase … he started out as a distraction. A distraction with sex appeal poured into every inch of his six foot frame. A distraction who played like a god and partied like a devil.

I tried to stay away. I couldn’t.
Then, the team started losing.
Women started dying.

And everything in my world broke apart.

You know what's funny? I live in the city of one of the best baseball teams of all time and I've never been to a game. After reading this, all I want to do is just hop on the train and go to the Yankee Staduim to experience EVERYTHING!. The crowd, the excitment and that rush of adrenaline you feel when you're at game. I want that now. I crave that now. But this isn't just about the love of a game, this is the story of two people who loved each other so much , their love brought the ultimate chaos.

Ty Rollins has always loved baseball. From the moment her Famous Yankee Dad brought her into his world at age seven, there was no going back for her. She bled those pinstripes and she loved every minute of it. You would think that being Seventeen, she would much rather be going to parties and hanging out with friends bit Ty wasn't made that way. Her parties were celebrations of the teams wins and her friends were the teamates. She loved being a part of them and everyone of those members considered her family. But a new addtion to that family is about to shake her to her core.

Chase Stern has always wanted to be a "Yankee". That has been his goal for the past couple of years but little did he know that his personal drama was going to make his dream come true. New team, new city, all he has to do is stay out of trouble and away from his teamate's Seventeen year old daughter. No problem right? Wrong! Meeting Ty was like being hit with a fast ball. It was quick, unguarded, and the after effect was disorienting but oh so thrilling.

"First loves were supposed to be flimsy and temperamental. They weren't supposed to burn bright and fade fast.  They weren't supposed to stick."

After trying very hard to avoid each other and their feelings, Ty and Chase embarked on a passionate and forbidden romance. They fell so hard for each other and I just couldn't wait to see how they were going to get any better than that. It was raw, it was passionate, and it had ALL the makings to be an all time love. But with that, came a big misunderstanding that had me wanting to bash my head in.

Fast forward four years later. Ty and Chase are at different point in their lives. She still loves the game and even though Chase has always been in her memories, seeing him again was the ultimate shock to her system. They're both older and more mature yes, but did their love die along with their past youth? Chase has never forgotten about Ty and him being back on the team is going to test his will of how long they can avoid each other without falling back into old habits.

"As a teenager, he had corrupted me.  As a woman, he ruined me".

Can these two finally get their second chance?

or will the murderer that's on the loose cause their
ultimate demise.

I absolutely without a doubt enjoyed this story. Ty and Chase's connection felt real and genuine and I enjoyed seeing them in their elements. Ms.Torre not only wrote a beautifully story, she managed to catch and keep my attention throught the book which I was very grateful for. Buuuut...... two things really bothered me and it left me sad and somewhat upset that it took that route. I really felt that a certain plot wasn't neccassary because Ty and Chase held their own in such a unique way that it wasn't needed. I think that if you could overlook those parts and focus on their love  and all of the sacrifices that they made to be together, this will most definetely be one of your favorite reads of 2016.
