BLURB
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been in love with Chris.
I was never old enough or brave enough to act on it.
He never saw me like anything more than his best friend’s little sister.
So, when he falls in love with my best friend, I smile and try to move on.
Only I never thought I would lose them both.
***
One tragic night.
One day leaving me wondering what my future holds.
One event that has me seeing Salomé under a different light.
She’s the only one who can understand what I’m going through.
She’s also the only one who can soothe my pain.
I need her to survive. But I certainly shouldn’t take advantage of it.
A brother’s best friend novel like no other.

Forsaken was the type of best friend little sister romance that from the moment you read the blurb, you needed to have it in your hands no matter what. The roller coaster of emotions that seeps through your body and the complicated hot messes of the characters relationships is only the tipping point of a love story that was in the making decades before.

Before I started this book, I needed to get a better understanding of the family dynamic of the main characters so I went ahead and read the fist book even though this was a complete stand alone. I was so glad that I did that because I learned more about the characters and their childhood. Some things were beyond complicated, some were just down right messy, and the rest you wanted nothing more than to smack the daylights out of everyone.

I’m a big fan forbidden romance fan and when an author shows you into their past, I love it more. the unspoken promises, the sultry looks, wanting to cross the line but knowing if you do, NOTHING will ever be the same again, is what keeps me coming back for more. Unfortunately for this story, I had some issues with it and I’m going to be honest and say that because of it, it hindered my reading experience a bit.

As much as I tolerated these characters separately, I couldn’t deal with them together. I didn’t feel that all consuming love and passion between them and when certain complications arised, I really wanted them to go their separate ways and just call it a day. Aside from that, I liked the fact that this was a close knit family and despite everyone being in each other’s business, they all loved each other.

If you’re new to this author’s work like me and you’re willing to try something new, then you should give this one a try.

  1. I hate when that happens... when you don't want the couple to stay together. When that happens, you know the story is a flop. Great honest review, Sonya, and I hope your next read is AMAZING! xo
