I’m tired of men that only want one night stands or blind dates that are nothing but awkward and uncomfortable. I’m tired of avoiding inappropriate text messages and the constant disappointment of always meeting Mr. Wrong.

I remember the exact moment I fell in love with this series. It was somewhere between being introduced to a sassy heroine that was determined to make it on her own, and a brooding tatted up chef that had an underlying humor you couldn’t help but love. I wanted to be a part of that story so much because these were some of the best characters that I’ve had the pleasure of reading about in a long time and just to be in their circle for only a minute, would’ve made my day. Now we’re into the next book of the series and all of the emotions and feelings that made me fall in love the first time around, came back to me at full force.
We’ve all been through that point in our lives where our tolerance for bull**** has effectively run it’s course and we’ve finally said enough is enough. That’s exactly what Molly Maverick is feeling towards men and she wouldn’t have it any other way. Her main focus now, is on her new job project and planning her best friend’s engagement party which a feat of it’s own but she’s determined to pull it off.
With the help of some of her culinary friends and the brooding restaurant owner who makes her want to bash her head in on a good day, Molly gave her friend the party of her dreams. But what do you do when you’re in a social environment that forces you to mingle with everyone especially the one guy who raises your blood pressure? You drink! That’s what I would’ve done and because I know we would’ve been great friends in real life, Molly does the same. But not before having an encounter with the infamous Ezra Baptiste.

The one thing that I absolutely love when I’m reading stories like these is the humor and the way the heroines portray themselves . They’re not afraid to speak their minds, they’re strong and sassy, and you can easily see yourself being friends with them. Molly was all of those things and I really liked that she didn’t try to be someone else and even though she didn’t have everything in her life figured out, she wasn’t angry or bitter about it.
Some would say that naming three of your restaurants after your exes is a bad idea but for Ezra Baptiste, it was pure genius on his part. With his businesses doing more than well, Ezra is now looking to revamp his social network and there’s only woman whom he trusts to do that. Getting the same woman to work for him would be like getting a wild tiger to be your pet because let’s be real: It’s not happening. But Ezra didn’t build his brand off of lack of determination and when he wants something, he gets it.
Ezra was one of those men that at first glance, you thought that he was completely closed off and a straight up douche nozzle but he wasn’t! He cared for people on a deeper level that had me swooning on site and his interactions with Molly was the highlight of the story. From their funny banners to the unavoidable sexual chemistry, I loved every moment they had together. With that being said, the only flaw that I had was that I wanted them to have more time together because they were so good! I also would’ve loved an epilogue but from the way this series is being written, I’m pretty sure this won’t be the last time we’ll be seeing them and I’m more than ok with that.
Hands down, everyone should read this series but please don’t read it while you’re hungry, otherwise you’ll be making grocery runs at night!
