I have been a huge fan of this author MC series so when I saw that she was coming out with a new mystery thriller, I knew that I had to read this one as well. Where Love Lies had the promise of something dangerous and all consuming lurking in the background that was going to lead to an all out thrilling showdown but sadly that was not the case.
Looking for a fresh start with her daughter, Rain has bought a new house in a quiet and friendly neighborhood. With new beginnings comes the start of friendships and potential love interests and for someone who is fresh off a bitter divorce, Rain isn't looking forward to putting herself out there. But that all changes when she runs into someone who makes her rethink the idea of dating and moving forward.
Now in a state of bliss and getting settled into her life, Rain is finally at a point in her life where she’s happy. But with happiness comes a few cracks that just keeps getting bigger and bigger and before you know it, your entire foundation begins to crumble. With danger on the other side, can Rain fight for the happiness that she’s always wanted or will it be too late?
I was expecting a lot more with this story if I’m being honest and I was under the impression that this was going to be an intense romance thriller. I was not a fan of the insta love it was extremely rushed along with other things. Towards the end had too much going on and felt like I was reading a different book at times. I did love the neighborhood setting and the side characters and I would secretly love to see them get their own books. Aside from that, if you’re looking for a quick romance with a bit of mystery to it, this one might be for you.
