I really loved how each character was so different and they held their own when it came to being a part of Heather’s circle. Eli was one of those characters that you couldn’t help but fall for him and I liked his creativity when it came to being with Heather. But on that note, I couldn’t really connect with them as a couple and the emotions that I was supposed to feel with them, sadly didn’t come through for me. I liked everyone individually but together? Something was just missing for me. If you’re a fan of this author and you love a swoon worthy hero, this one is for you.
ANnnnnd...this is how you write romance folks because We Own Tonight is romance at it's finest! Corinne Michaels swept me off my feet with this brand new standalone. She reminded me of why I so dearly love her works and rooted for it every time. Holee-be-jayzus! I fell in love deeply with this story and of course, who would never love Heather and Eli? Swear, Corinne is romance's fairy godmother because when she wrote WOT, all the things you could ever ask for was given. This book felt magical and real at the same time. I have not just the right amount of feels reading the book but I enjoyed every moment I have with it. Ahhhhh... what a beautiful rollercoaster ride!!!
We Own Tonight had me the moment I read the first word. I am in awe because as always, Corinne managed to excellently write lines that grabbed me into the bubble of the story she created. I could not pop it because I just want to get lost in it and stayed there for much longer because it gave me that wonderful feeling. Gahd, I felt like a mad woman swooning! I mean seriously?This book, if we could have read it together at the same time, I'm sure we all be gushing about the scenes, social media will jail us all! It felt so real you can feel it deep in your bones. It's nostalgic it gave me the chills!! Lawd!!!
No words...really no words. It's brilliantly written that even the characters held a special place in my heart. I thought I was ready for Eli Walsch but I was so wrong. His character is nothing I ever expected! Paired up with Heather and this two were just explosive as fireworks so beautiful, with all that sparkling colors. Their chemistry was off the charts and I connected with them immediately. Their journey was feels good, light, fluffy ( Corinne's words btw) until it wasn't. Oh, there's lightness but I could not deny the emotional pull this book has. I was swooning and feeling hot then to realize the next I was sobbing. Tears were flowing I stopped for a moment gathering myself. I feel like I was nuts because at point, I was crying and laughing at the same time. Yes, Corinne made me feel this way but trust me when I say I do not want it any other way. The laughter, the tears I shed for this book together with the butterflies in my tummy due to swoony feels was so worth it. Because in the end, it made the story more wonderful, real and so alive!
Overall I highly recommend this book. I wont give you any details though even if I wanted to. Just trust Corinne Michaels to take you on a ride that will be etched forever in your heart and soul. We Own Tonight is more than just a great book. It's detailed, descriptive and it evoked a strong emotion. Lighthearted and fluffy my ass! More like, it's on a brink to sob fest. It will not just make you hook, it will consume and own you. This is the kind of book you want to reread over and over again. I tell you WOT is EVERYTHING! I love it to bits of pieces!!!
