He's there to protect her...not fall for her.
Kresley
Studying abroad was my chance to gain independence away from my privileged life in California. But, when there's a kidnapping attempt on my life, I'm forced to return home to finish college. I just never expected to get stuck with a pompous, know-it-all bodyguard who watches my every move with nothing but disdain. One whose good looks don't soften the cold, impenetrable wall he wears like armor.
Tristan
I pride myself on being a professional and taking my job as a bodyguard seriously. But, nothing could prepare me for the high maintenance, rich girl I'm hired to protect. She's got a smart mouth, is hell bent on pushing my buttons, and doesn't take the threats against her seriously. And despite the nightmares that plague her dreams, or the fact that I'm the only one who knows about them, I'm not there to befriend her. I'm there to protect her...no matter how much she intrigues me.
Jabs will be exchanged, glares will become the norm, jealousy will rear its ugly head, and sparks...well those damn things will inevitably fly. But will it all come with a dangerous price?

Well this was a pleasant surprise! Normally I would fall head first for the hero but that was not the case in this story. I wanted to be best friends with the heroine and help her because she was just one of those girls that you gravitate towards. I Just Need You was sexy, mysterious bodyguard romance that made you root for the forbidden romance because you KNOW that this one was going to be special.
Some would say that being the only child to billionaire parents is a wonderful thing but for 21 one year old Kresley, she will tell you that it is not always roses. Having to watch your back in fear of being a target is always at the forefront and unfortunately her worst nightmare became a reality. Forced to get extra security in her Senior year of college, Kresley has to adjust to her new life along with trying to secure a sense of normalcy. But when she meets her new protector, normal is not what she should be worried about.
Twenty five year old Tristan has been the best at his job for the past seven years. He’s level headed, a leader and he knows that his clients safety is top priority. But when he’s assigned to protect a college student who at first sight changes the course of his job, Tristan knows that this assignment is going to be different because of the blonde beauty. With danger lurking in the background, will Tristan and Kelsey survive each other?
I love that this was a body guard romance and quite frankly, that was what drew me to this story. I was sold on the forbidden but the banter between the main characters was the bright star for me. I LOVED it!!! These two had a connection from the very beginning and watching them try to fight it, was entertaining. I laughed, bit my fingernails, groaned in frustration, and shouted finally from the rooftops after taking a shot because let’s be real……
Now I was not a fan of everything in the story but I can say that I did enjoy most of it. The characters were refreshing and I loved that it had a little bit of mystery to it. If you’re like me and this is the first time reading anything from this author, I would highly recommend you start with this book.

The Cabin was a highly emotional read about unwavering love, loss, finding yourself again, and the ultimate hardest thing that you will ever be faced to do. Move on. It was poignant at times, messy, and heartbreaking but we saw the raw beauty in the bonds that were formed and that in itself was worth some of the heartache.
Nadia has always been a pretty simple woman. She has a loving successful husband, she takes pride in her career as a nurse, and she has a best friend that anyone would kill to have in their corner. But sometimes a simple life, will turn upside down and shake you to your core without ever giving you a courtesy warning.
Now swimming in the unimaginable kind of grief that has crippled her life, Nadia is now at the point where something has to give and this is the start of her long healing journey. What will happen when that very same journey puts her on the path of not only healing herself but someone else? Can love really be a balm for grief?
Going into this story, I immediately knew what I was signing up for and I was prepared for it in a sense when it came to the emotional. A part of me was hoping that the story would have taken a different turn in the beginning, and I did have some issues with the flow of the story but ultimately I’m glad with the way things turned out in the end.
This story was not an easy read and it can be emotionally exhausting at times, but there was beauty beneath the heartache and pain. There was love beneath the grief and there was LIFE and joy after pain. If you’re looking for a emotional read, then you should give this one a try.

1: NDA
“All right, Mr. Bell. You’re all set here, I think.”
The nurse is that peculiar, unique brand of brusque efficiency and Zen-like kindness you only find in an oncology department. She fiddles with the IV line puncturing my left arm, the off-white, veiny medical tape securing it to my forearm. Her eyes are brown, the exact shade of a chocolate Labrador’s fur. She is warm, and caring, but lurking beneath that veneer of caregiver kindness is the detached iciness of someone whose job it is to watch people die.
“It will take a couple hours for this to drip through, and then we have to monitor you for—”
“I know,” I interrupt. I open the lid of my laptop. “I’ve been through this a few times.”
She smiles. “Of course, Mr. Bell. If you need anything, just press the call button.”
I hesitate a few seconds and then say, “There is something.” Then I glance at the curtain which is not quite pulled shut.
She catches my meaning and brings the two ends of the curtain together, the metal rings rasping with a rattling ring. “What can I do for you, Mr. Bell?”
I reach into my messenger bag, sitting on the floor next to this monstrosity of a chair—a freakish, Frankensteinian thing, not quite a lounger and not quite a clinical, medical device, but something in between. It’s made from a rubbery plastic or vinyl material that squeaks at every slight movement, and is too hard and too upright to be truly comfortable, but when you kick back in it and lift the footrest, it forces you into a near-horizontal recline in an unnatural defiance of gravity.
The chair is distracting, and I hate the chair almost as much as I hate the ward, the IV, and the whole damned morbid circus.
In my bag is a thin manila folder. On the label I’ve written three letters in neat block handwriting, in black Sharpie: NDA. I withdraw a single sheet of paper, on which are two and a half paragraphs, single-spaced. It’s in tight, clear legalese, drawn up by my attorney, printed on formal, intimidating letterhead. I hand it to the nurse whose nametag, clipped to her pale green sleeve, announces her as Tiffany Snell, R.N, O.C.N.
“This is an NDA, a nondisclosure agreement.”
She allows a frown, briefly. “Okay?”
I keep my voice low, not whispering, but pitched for her ears only. “I’m here alone, as I’m sure you’ve noticed.”
“Yes. Which is why your observation period has to be so long.”
“I know.”
I reach into my bag and pull out a pen—it’s a nice pen, hefty, metal, with a satisfying clicker, and on the side is my name: Adrian Bell, and my logo, a coat of arms with my monogram. It’s recognizable to most people, that logo; you see it on the title page of my books, on my website, and expensively animated as a production company logo during the title sequences when you watch movies made from my books. I hand her the pen, tap the NDA with it.
“This says you will not disclose to anyone that I was here at all, let alone why. I’m paying for this with cash, so there’s no insurance paperwork trail.”
She frowns again as she reads. “Why is it a secret, may I ask?”
“I have my reasons,” I say. “Whatever else must be done in the process of this infusion, I would like you to do, including observation and my eventual discharge. All right? This means that just one person has to sign this little item.” I tap the NDA again.
“And if I don’t sign it?” It’s not meant belligerently, just…a simple question.
I smile. “Tiffany—Miss Snell. Do I really need to spell this out? You know who I am. I don’t want this getting out. That’s all. I’m protecting my privacy.”
She breathes out gently—it’s not a sigh, more of a thoughtful breath. “What about your wife? Why isn’t she here?”
It takes all I have to not wince at the question. “I’m going to have to decline to answer that, Miss Snell. Can you please just sign? It just means you don’t tell anyone I was here. If coworkers ask, you simply say you can’t talk about it. Don’t make a big deal about it, just that—I can’t talk about it. That’s all.” I pause, smile again. “Would it help you to know I’m a yearly donor to this facility?”
She rolls a shoulder. “Not really. I’m just a nurse.” Another of those thoughtful out-breaths. “Mr. Bell, I’ll sign your NDA. But I have to register my thoughts with you. Hiding this is not fair.” Her warm brown eyes momentarily reveal the sadness she normally keeps hidden. “I’ve seen your file, obviously. What you’re dealing with, it’s…it’s not…”
“It doesn’t have a stellar survival rate,” I finish. “I know.”
“Hiding it from your wife, Mr. Bell—”
“Adrian.”
“It’s really, really not fair of you, Adrian. You’re not doing her any favors. I obviously don’t know a thing about your marriage, but if she loves you—”
I let out a shaky breath, cut her off. “She does, Tiffany. More than I deserve. More than…More than is, perhaps, healthy.”
“So why—”
“I have my reasons,” I say again. Now I do not smile. I frown in a way that says this conversation has to be over. “It’s not fair of me, I know. Believe me, I know. But it’s not fair that I have this. That I’m here. It’s not fair that I’m paying as much for this treatment as I am. What in your life can you list as unfair, Tiffany? A lot, I’m sure. Fair is a myth. Fair does not exist.”
She gazes at me evenly, steadily and then takes the pen from me. Signs the NDA in a nurse’s hasty scrawl. Dates it. Hands me the pen.
“Keep it.”
She lets a small smile cross her lips. “I’ve read all your books, you know. I enjoy them. They make me feel like I can believe in love again.” She gestures with the pen. “Thank you.”
“If you happen to have a copy with you, I’ll sign it for you.”
She bites a lip. “I do, actually.”
“Bring it when you come to check on me.”
She nods, hooks the pen by the clip at an angle in the V of her scrub top. Smiles at me again, and leaves.
You catch more flies with honey than vinegar, my mother used to tell me.
I enter the passcode on my laptop; there’s Wi-Fi here, so I could check email, but I don’t. In fact, I turn Wi-Fi off, so I won’t be distracted by the siren song of email, pull my wireless earbuds from my bag, and turn on Rostropovich via my phone.
I open my manuscript. Close my eyes, take a deep breath, hold it, and let it out slowly. Repeat four times. Pushing away, mentally, the fog of the chemo, the pinch of the IV, the continual beeping of IV machines indicating a bag is finished, the occasional static PA announcements, the squeak of sensible sneakers, and the murmur of quiet conversations.
Push it all away. Find my flow.
It’s there, under the surface. It’s always there; it’s always been there. Like Louis L’Amour said, I could sit in the middle of Sunset Boulevard with a typewriter on my knees, and once I’m in the flow, I wouldn’t notice a thing but the words on the page.
With this story I’m working on now, though, it’s harder, and it takes more effort to sink down into it, more mental gymnastics to get into the flow. I need to find the right balance, tap into the necessary emotions, while still remaining the objective storyteller.
This one is personal. More than all the other books I’ve written over my career, this one…this one requires more of me.
And I have to get it right.
I’m writing it for an audience of one. Well, two. But really, just one. Her.
My love. My Nadia.

RC Boldt has delivered an action pack plot twist that has left me not only stunned, but giving her a round of applause because it was executed nicely. Truth In Pieces was a story that started off with an illusion that you will be in control of the outcome because your feelings will be under control but let me school you on something right now: It won’t be and these characters will turn you upside down for better or for worse.
What happens when your seemingly normal life gets an interruption form the biggest drug cartel leader in Miami? It goes up in flames. For professor Olivia Wright, life as she knows it, is now gone and in it’s place is a dangerous and rude awakening. Now in the cross hairs of a long standing feud that has put her on the radar, Olivia must now come to terms with an arrangement that has the power to either put her life in danger, or sacrifice the most important thing that she has never given up. Her heart. Can Olivia and Nico survive? Or will someone get burn?
I have to say that I went into this story thinking that I was going to be getting a straight forward forbidden romance with a little bit of danger but I ended up getting so much more. I really liked the main characters and enjoyed seeing them when they were on top but also vulnerable. Everything was not always perfect but it showed that they just like us in a way and they made mistakes and learned from them.
Now as for the plot twists that I didn’t really see coming. I thought that I knew what was going to happen and in a way I was right but for the rest? I had no idea the author was going to drop that kind of bomb on me!!
This is my second book that ive read from this author and she’s quickly climbing up on my favorite author list. Her writing is effortless, her storytelling sucks you in, and you’re constantly asking yourself this question: When can I read more???????
Excerpt
Confusion riddles me. I stare at him for a long beat before finding my words. “My
parents died in a plane crash years ago.”
“Your freshman year in college, to be exact.” His features harden. “But they weren’t
your real folks.”
Horror ekes past my defenses. “What?”
Deep brown eyes holding a slight tinge of gold assess me. “That’s enough talk for now.
Ain’t got time to waste. Need to get you outta here.”
“As I said before, no, thank you.”
His gaze turns glacial. “You don’t understand—”
“I understand just fine! You’re obviously a criminal.” I gesture between him and where
Goliath remains standing. “And I want nothing to do with any of this. I pay my taxes. I return my
damn shopping cart at the store while the other assholes leave them in the parking lot. I’m not
someone who gets involved with people like you!”
He lets my outburst settle in silence. His lips press into a thin, irritated line before he
speaks in a low, deceptively subdued voice. “Can’t tell me that fancy professor brain of yours
ain’t dyin’ of curiosity ’bout your folks. That you ain’t eager as fuck to find out if your real dad
was murdered.”
I flick my eyes to the gun holstered at his side. “How do I know you’re not lying to me?”
“I always follow through on my end.”
“Right,” I say derisively.
His expression turns ferocious. “You questionin’ my word?”
Bravely, I lift my chin while maintaining eye contact. “I’d be stupid not to.”
He stares at me for a long moment. Wordlessly, he pulls his cell phone from his pocket
and scrolls through it. When he stops, his eyes flick up to mine, eerily watchful before he turns
the screen of the phone my way.
I suck in a sharp breath at the sight of the woman pictured on the screen, shock
ricocheting inside me.
“That’s Johanna Santilla. Your mom.”
Oh, my God. OhmyGod. I’ve heard of that name. Hell, anyone who hasn’t been living
under a rock has heard of the Santilla drug cartel. They originated in Cuba and began calling
Miami home over sixty years ago.
No photos exist of Johanna Santilla—at least none that have hit the internet. Photos of
her father, Carlos Santilla, have surfaced since his death, but they’ve often been grainy and
slightly pixelated, like the ones featured on Dateline NBC and other true crime television shows.
As for Johanna, however, once she took over the cartel for her father years ago, it’s as
though all photographic traces of her were somehow wiped clean. According to rumors, she
decided to keep a low profile when word got out about the FBI poking around in her business.
With criminology being my specialty, stories such as these fuel my brain, making me analyze the
psychological reasoning these particular individuals employ. I recall learning that once Nico
Alcanzar came into power, taking over for Salvatore Vega, Santilla allegedly grew more
secretive. Authorities couldn’t gather enough substantial evidence to pin any murders on her,
and she’s remained elusive to them ever since.
My eyes lock on the photo of Johanna Santilla standing beside her father, Carlos. But
that’s not what has me struggling to draw oxygen into my lungs.
“She looks…” I’m unable to finish, so stunned.
It’s as though I’m peering into my future. It’s undeniable that we have the same dark
hair and facial features.
“That viral video put you on everybody’s radar. One look at you and nobody could deny
you weren’t the goddamn spittin’ image of her.” His eyes flick to the phone a second before the
screen times out and goes dark. “Luckily, I’m the first to track you down.”

Copper
Royal Bastards MC: Tulsa, OK by K Webster Publication Date: October 13, 2020 Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Dark MC RomancePurchase: Amazon | Barnes & Noble | Kobo | Apple Books | Eden Books
I’m a Fed. Rigid. Rule follower. One of the good guys. I uphold the law…when it suits me. My loyalty lies first with my brother, Koyn, and secondly with his motorcycle club. Jeremy Koynakov was the man I used to be. I’m Copper now. For a decade, I aided my brother in his quest for revenge. We thirsted for vengeance. Hunted the villains together. Killed when necessary. He finally found some semblance of peace in a mouthy pageant girl, and all was right in our screwed-up world. But a certain blonde within our ranks ruined everything. Tried to wreck our home, our lives, and our freedom. She betrayed us. Because of me. It’s my responsibility to deal with this little storm who was set on destroying our world. I could end her. It’d be easier. Simple and clean. But that’s not the MC way. We pride ourselves on being brutal and messy. For a man who’s spent the better part of ten years, aching to make those suffer who’ve wronged my family, it’s a simple choice: Take her. Punish her. Make her pay. I’m done following rules. That time of my life is over.I’ll finally patch in and become how I’ve been groomed to be. I’m ready to embrace this new life where I’m not a good guy… Every villain needs a pet. And she just became mine. It’s been a while since I’ve read a k Webster book and I have to tell you, I really really without a shadow of a doubt, want to smack the heck out of myself!!!! How could I have forgotten the way she sucks me in with her writing, fall in love with the darkness, crave the grit and make us bow our heads because we just did the unthinkable. We fell for the madness and we ladies and gentlemen, regret NOTHING.
After having read the first book Koyn, I was not sure how this story was going to go. Being the older brother and a federal agent of the President of the MC can’t, Copper has always had his work cut out for him when being a part of two worlds. Now faced with the task of having to deal with a situation that not only put his family in harm’s way, but his moral compass is going haywire when it comes to a certain blonde. They say all is fair in love and war but for Copper and Stormy, their war will uncover secrets that were never meant to be revealed.
Copper is a no holds barred gritty MC romance that is filled with revenge, lustful hate, betrayal, and a unity that some might find unconventional but it works for these characters. Everyone has a story and some of their journeys were down right painful to hear out loud but it made them who they are. Their scars were real, their need for vengeance was a hunger that couldn’t be ignored, and that pain that they desperately tried to never forget, was the driving force that made them stronger.
I LOVED this one more than the first book and I really enjoyed all of the characters. There were the special ones that you needed to pray for but secretly loved, the ones that you wanted to shake the life out of, and the others that you’re nit so patiently waiting for their own story because you know it’s going to be good! If you’re craving a good action pack MC romance, then this one is for you.

I really liked the little glimpses of science that were talked about and seeing Damien and Lilith work together even if it was for a short period of time. We saw the desire that they had for each other and we definitely felt the passion but I somehow still wanted to see more. I wanted to see more of the aftermath of certain things and how that not only impacted their own lives, but others as well.

Tarnished Empire gave you the forbidden aspects, the mystery, and it kept you guessing in certain situations. This story was filled with an underlying desire that you wanted to come to the surface immediately but you also felt the consequences that were creeping up in slow whispers if they were to ever cross that line.
Alaric has been on a mission for the past four years and that is to avenge the death of his brother. His number one enemy is out of sight but for a man like Alaric, he won’t be for long. With a plan in motion, the tables are about to turn in a way that is going to bring nothing but chaos and destruction. What happens when your number one enemy has something that you want? You go to all out war with the biggest ace in your arsenal.
Phoenix has always known that she has led a sheltered life from her father’s business and she has never had a problem with that until now. When circumstances has her going to the forefront to do something out of the ordinary, Phoenix comes face to face with her family’s biggest rival and that chance encounter will seal her fate.
This story was different form your normal forbidden romance and I was really excited about that because the possibilities were endless. I really liked the banter between the main characters in the beginning and I thought that this was going to be really special between them but somewhere along the line, I became bored and aggravated with the heroine and what she was doing or in this case, saying. I loved Alaric and thought that he knew how to handle himself and protect anyone who meant something to him.
Even though this was not my favorite read, I still enjoyed some parts of the story and I think that if you’re looking for a different kind of forbidden romance in a setting like this, then you should give this one a try.

As we both bring our drinks to our mouths, I notice that Cristian isn’t looking at me, so I follow his gaze. It doesn’t take me long to see what or rather who he is staring at. There, at the end of the row of banquettes, is the most exquisite woman I have ever seen.
Long brown hair that flows down past the swell of her breasts. It’s her eyes, though, that keep me from looking away. From where I’m sitting, I can’t see the color, but when she sees me, they are mesmerizing. She only glances my way for a second before turning around and giving me the cold shoulder.
Few women have done that. Not at a place like this.
Most women throw themselves at me. She, however, stands with her back to me. Her behind is not the worst view I’ve seen. Her short dress that looking from the front seemed modest is anything but.
No. Here, from this angle, nothing is left to the imagination. Two thin straps lower to an open back that dips to the dimples of her ass.
Possessed, I stand from my seat, needing to know who this girl is—and why she so casually dismissed me.
I’m a man on a mission as I stalk over to her. My team is quick to follow, so I’m intimidating as hell as I make my approach.
I should tell them to stand down, but I want to see her squirm. There’s no way that a little thing like her won’t.
When I finally make my appearance, I’m towering behind her. She hasn’t seen me, but she must feel my presence because I watch her back muscles tighten.
Slowly, and with purpose, she turns around to face me.
She has to crane her neck up, but when her gaze reaches mine, her pupils dilate.
I hadn’t come here tonight hoping to fuck, but after watching the way her mouth parts and a slight puff of oxygen escapes her pouty yet full lips, I want to fuck her. I want to feel those lips wrapped around my cock.
“I’m not interested,” she spits out before I can even speak. Her response has me throwing back my head, laughing—something I rarely do these days.
“You don’t even know what I was going to ask.”
“You were going to ask me if I wanted a drink. And seeing as I already have one …” She lifts the glass that I hadn’t previously seen in the air. It’s new, the bubbles still bouncing on the glass from the pour. “I don’t need another.”
“And what if you’re wrong?”
“So, you were coming to ask me if I wanted to… what?” Her eyebrow lifts. “Talk with you?”
“Again, wrong.” Not entirely wrong, but wrong enough.
“Well, color me intrigued. You came all the way here—”
“You noticed me.” I smirk, and she must realize her mistake, and my smile broadens. “Here’s what I think. I think you wanted me to come over here. I think you like the game of cat and mouse.”
“I think you know nothing.”
“Pity,” I say, before turning and walking away.
“That’s it?” she asks from behind me.
“Yep.” I turn my head over my shoulder. “But …” I pause for emphasis. “If you have a different answer for me, I’ll be back tomorrow. Same time. Same place.” And with that, I walk away, right out of the VIP area and then right out of the club.
Once we step outside, I stop. Turning to the right, I look at Cristian.
“Yes, Boss?”
“Her name. Her social security number. Find me everything there is to know about that woman by tomorrow.”
He doesn’t ask me why I need the info. I plan to fuck that girl, but I don’t touch anyone without doing my due diligence.

And she just became mine.About K. Webster
