Karma's Kiss by R.S. Grey is now live!
Every small-town girl has known a Sawyer Garnett. He’s the dimpled dreamboat we used to fantasize about in algebra class, the hometown heartbreaker with no shortage of outraged exes. But unlike most golden boys, this one didn’t peak in high school. Oh no no. Like the fine wine at the vineyard he’s the literal heir to, Sawyer’s only gotten better with age.
Nobody is more annoyed that karma has yet to find Sawyer than my best friend, his old flame. Just hearing his name makes her curse the day he was born. “That man deserves to learn a lesson” turns into a vengeance vow that puts me on a collision course with Sawyer himself.
Go out on a date with him? Easy-peasy. Flirt and play along? No sweat. Let him slip his hands beneath my sundress amidst the lush grapevines? Well…maybe a little bit of sweat.
It’s not long before our simple plan for payback turns into Texas-sized trouble. Under the spell of Sawyer’s piercing brown eyes, my pretend passion threatens to ignite the flimsy facade I’ve built up against him. I’ll just have to stay focused. If I want justice for my friend and every other woman Sawyer has scorned, I have to keep reminding myself he’s run from karma’s kiss for far too long.
They say you reap what you sow…and Sawyer so deserves what is coming to him.

I think that I've been really sleeping on this author and I have the strongest urge to binge read every single book that she's ever written to quench my thirst. I'm obsessed with her writing, her sneaky banter and the way she makes her characters feel so real is the reason why she's now on my radar.
After going through a bad breakup, Madison decides to come back to her hometown to regroup and help her mom with her business in the meantime. The problem with small towns? Everyone knows your business before your flight leaves the ground and you can forget about privacy from here on out. What she doesn't expect is to run into her high school crush the same night she arrives and have that interaction become a domino effect of lust, payback and getting something much more bigger than she's ever anticipated.
I really enjoyed this one and even though I was not a fan of the characters miscommunications quarrels, I still liked it. Madison and Sawyer were a perfect fit for each other and I loved their banter. The side characters were just as important and I really liked that because it made us visualize everything with them. Add that in with some fast building tension and humor to match, and this was the perfect setup.
If you're looking for light rom com read with lovable characters, this one's for you.

Wanting nothing more than to be a travel journalist and to see the world, Casey Hughes has settled into being a fact checker. Being content for now along with using a little white lie, Casey now has a ten day work trip on a very luxurious cruise ship. Her job is not only to get a one on one interview with the cruise ship owner, but she secretly has to make amends with him as well. This exotic trip will look like a nightmare if the past is not forgiven.
Philip has made a name for himself as a successful business man. After years of putting in hard work and bringing his company to new heights, Philip is looking forward to this new adventure and setting sail. Clear skies, tropical drinks, what could possibly go wrong? Your arch nemesis resurfacing and asking for an interview while aboard your ship? This is going to be a long ten day trip.
I enjoyed the characters banter even though I was expecting to full on belly laugh with some things that could've happened. The days felt long but I really liked that we were given glimpses into the day trips and the interactions with the side characters. They were entertaining, witty and they made us really want to experience everything with them.
This was mostly a slow burn but I feel like it had to be done that way. We needed those day to day moments, we had to see how much of the past truly affected the present, and we also needed the main characters to come into their own. With all of that, I think that this was a good vacation enemies to lovers read. If you're in the mood for something fun, I recommend you go with this one.

After reading The Professor, I knew that I needed to finish the rest of this story. We were clouded with secrets, mystery, and the alluring forbidden aspect of wanting something you know you can't have.
Picking up from where they left off in the Professor, Anne and William are now facing their new normal. Determined to move on and focus on school, Anne throws herself into her work and welcomes the much needed distraction. But there's a lot of unfinished business between her and the Professor and she'll soon learn that you can run but you definitely can't hide.
I was expecting a lot more with this story if I’m being honest. Almost everything felt rushed and there was no real connection or time spent with the main characters. I almost felt like I was reading a different book at certain times and I needed the answers to a lot of the obvious questions and that never happened.
I was also under the impression that this was going to be a duet but I guess the author has different plans. I really hope that the final book will give us more clarity, justice, and have that spark that made us fall in love with the first book. These characters have the potential to do so much more but only time will tell.

Blurb:
From the USA TODAY bestselling author of From the Embers comes a new jaw-dropping standalone romance.
Pain trapped me in this house. Can love set me free?
Death had been chasing me my entire life. I survived the horrors of war, but it was the aftermath that truly destroyed me.
People called me a recluse, but the only time I didn’t feel like I was suffocating was inside that house.
For my daughter, I kept some semblance of normalcy by implementing a rigid routine. Once a week, I forced myself to walk to the diner at the end of the block—a ritual I despised but relied on as my last anchor to the real world.
Until the day a “Closed” sign on the door shattered my fragile existence. Worse, the new owner was the most haunting ghost from my past.
It had been years since I’d laid eyes on Gwendolyn Pierce. She hated me—and rightly so. But when a film crew arrived in town to dig into my past, she became my only ally.
With my secrets threatened, I leaned on Gwen, forging a connection neither of us could deny. But with a past as dark as ours, I feared it would eclipse any hope for a future.
I always said that when Death finally came for me, I would be ready, eager, and alone.
Always alone.
But for Gwen, maybe I could face the world again as long as it meant I could be alone—with her.

I've really missed this author's writing. She pulls you in with her characters and makes you completely invested in their journey whether you're going to be cheering for their happily ever after, or watching their downfall. Either way, you're there for it and you won't have it any other way.
For the past eighteen years, Truett West has been in his own personal hell. Still consumed with grief and self hatred, he purposely punishes himself mentally with a never ending cycle of a ritual that keeps him stuck in the past. His flaws and sacrifices is constantly at the forefront in his mind so when someone from his past completely changes his rhythm, Truett knows that his meticulous time, is about to be engulfed in chaos.
Gwen is finally starting over with a new life and business. Her main focus is to build something from the ground up that not only she can be proud of, but her son as well. Coming face to face with a blast from her past was not on her to do list but as fate would have it, her book was already written.
This was truly a heartbreaking story and I had this sense of knowing what I was initially getting myself into with this read, but I really didn't. Things that I conjured up in my mind was nothing compared to what really happened and if I'm being completely honest, it broke me more. The characters' pain was palpable on every page and I dreaded when I saw a chapter in the past because I knew, that it was going to hurt even more and it did.
This was not an easy read and some of the characters will frustrate you at times but through it all, this book will be an experience. Love, loss, grief, finding hope and joy in the simplest things, is what's going to keep your attention. If you're looking for a deeply emotional second chance romance, I highly recommend you read this one.
Andrea has always been a Straight-forward person. If she wanted something, she was not afraid to go out and get it. Growing up with a strict military dad, you would think that she would be a rule follower but you know what? She makes her own rules. Her fascination with a priest that was kidnapped, morphed into a transcending love that will not only take her a lucrative career path, but it will ultimately put her face to face with her muse.
Father Savio knows just how precious life is and he's grateful for it everyday. Carrying out his duty to serve and be there for anyone that needs it, has never wavered despite going through his own special brand of hell. But he also wants to protect his parishioners and he knows that even though there's pure love and beauty, there's also dark and evil.
This was a slow burn in the beginning and even though that might not be for everyone, I actually enjoyed that. From the letters to the dual povs, there was just something so hypnotic about that time frame that captured everything beautifully. As the story progressed and we got further along, I did not enjoy the time jumps. I knew why it was done but I feel like it could've slowed down a little bit more.
If you're looking for a dark forbidden stalker romance, you should give this one a try.
