The Lovely Return by Carian Cole is now live!
They say be careful what you wish for. But on December 5th, Alex Fox makes a wish in the midst of a devastating tragedy. Little did he know, that wish would come true.
Six years after that fateful day, a little girl wanders into Alex's studio. With her quirky personality, endless questions, and adorable smile, Penny Rose becomes an enchanting, yet bittersweet, distraction.
Penny Rose was an odd girl—at least, that's what her parents said. Penny herself didn't feel particularly odd; she simply felt misplaced. As if somehow, in some way, she was living in the wrong place. In the wrong life.
As the years pass, Alex and Penny develop a friendship. But it becomes harder and harder for them to ignore their undeniable chemistry, no matter how forbidden it is.
Alex believed he'd never find love again, let alone fall for a girl half his age. But Penny is everything he could ever want or need. Not only is she caring, witty, and beautiful, but she accepts the past that haunts him.
Penny couldn't be happier. She's been head over heels for sexy, brooding artist Alex Fox since she was six years old. But when her childhood dreams start resurfacing again—dreams of a life with Alex way before they ever met—she starts to think they're not dreams at all.
They're memories.
Penny's revelation to Alex threatens to tear them apart, making them question the impossible and unbelievable.
Can love truly transcend time and death, giving them a second chance at their happily ever after? Or is Penny battling a broken mind that has led her down a path of heartbreaking delusion?

This book put me through it. I was sad, frustrated, happy and angry. My lows were my lows but for those fleeting moments when I had my highs, they were beautiful and I never wanted to let go of that feeling. These characters truly puts you in their orbit and I have to say that despite a few things I didn't agree with this story, I had a really hard time letting go of these characters because they really stayed with me.

They say grief has no expiration date and for Alex Fox, those words couldn't be any more true. For years he's been going through different stages of it but he's now become a shell of the man that he once was. How do you move on when the worst day of your entire life took away your reason for living? Going through the motions as the years pass, a little girl shows up one day and changes everything.
It's no secret that I'm a huge forbidden romance fan and I was literally chomping at the bit to get to this one. It looked haunting and I knew in my bones that certain things were going to hurt me but I was ready to embrace it. The issue that I had with this story was not only the plot, but I felt like it was a bit forced on the main character. I just wanted certain things to be different because it felt like there was more than an internal battle. I understood why it was done because that was the plot of the story but I just wished that some things were different.

Now aside from that, I fell in love with these characters and I truly felt their pain. When I tell you my heart was aching, I felt like I was experiencing my own grief. Despite the age difference, Alex and Penny solidified their place in each other's lives without ever knowing it and as time passed, you not only saw their friendship progressing, but you saw the possibility of more. You knew it was coming and you felt the shift in the air and you held your breath because as much as you know that it's going to be Beautiful, it's going to come with some heartache.
This was a complex haunting love story that spanned decades. If you’re a fan of this author, then I recommend giving this one a try.

His love should come with a warning label.
Caution to the Wind by Giana Darling is now live!
From Wall Street Journal bestselling author Giana Darling comes an age gap, second chance love story about a rebel soul and her best friend's dad who wants absolutely nothing to do with her...
I fell in love with my best friend's dad when I was seventeen.
He seemed like some kind of heathen god, big enough to kill a man with his bare hands, tattooed with bright, bold images, and weathered by time and a short stint in prison.
Blind to the consequences, I made a mistake that ran him out of town and ruined his life.
Now, he's back after all these years—hating me more than the day he left.
What he doesn't know is that I've been working to atone for my sins.
I've infiltrated the Vancouver Triad that killed his wife.
Always my protector, he decides it's not safe for me to be in this alone, so he resolves to get me out of the Triad and out of his hair for good.

I have been waiting for this book for a very long time to the point where I had honestly given up on it. It was more than a highly anticipated because I knew the story itself was going to be gritty, forbidden and dangerous and after reading this, I was absolutely right.
From a very young age, Mei has had almost everything that her heart's desire but still feeling like an outcast and not loved. Everything changed when she met her best friend Cleo at nine years old and they've been inseparable since. That friendship gave her love, let her embrace her Chinese culture more, and it set her on a path of finding justice for a tragedy that's going to shape her life. But through it all the one thing that kept Mei going was knowing that not only she had her best friend, that friendship gave her someone else and he's more than off limits.
Henning-Axe Man has seen his fair share of tragedy and as the years go by, it seems to get worse. Now on a mission to get to the truth about something that happened years ago, Axe knows that his choices from here on out is going to set other things in motion. Some for the better, some for the worse and there's one girl who's going to constantly be in his orbit.

Everyone that knows me knows that I do not play around with forbidden age gap romance. I love everything about it and that's not going to change any time soon. The crackling of sexual tension, the forbidden current, the stolen moments, I love it all and when I saw this one, I needed it like a cool drink of water after being in the desert for so long. I will admit that I didn't feel the connection between the main characters for quite some time but thankfully that changed a bit for part 2.
This was a complicated story between two characters that have endured so much pain over the course of the years and they wear their scars sometimes too proudly at times. Mei and Axe were always in sync with one another even when they were younger but I loved seeing it when they were older. After some dangerous encounters and fueled anger that span for nearly a decade, these characters will test you but you'll be glad that you took their journey. If you're a fan of this author or you love forbidden MC romance with a tough heroine, this one's for you.
This is a standalone but characters from the author's previous books are mentioned. Keep in mind that this is a MC family so if you're curious about other couples, I would recommend you read their books.

Blurb:
From USA TODAY Bestselling author Xavier Neal comes the jaw-dropping, heart pounding conclusion to this best friends-to-lovers, forced proximity, romantic suspense duet!
The assignment is simple.
Don't let the client get kidnapped.
Don't let someone kill her.
Don't screw up our now very real relationship.
It's the last part that complicates what would otherwise be a fairly run of the mill operation.
If we weren't dating, the only thing I would have to worry about would be following standard procedures such as making sure her locations are secure.
That we aren't being followed.
That those in her inner circle haven't been compromised.
But because we are, I now have to deal with her sabotaging ex boyfriend.
And an unexpected female guest showing up on our double date.
And a meddling team member who thinks he's helping instead of simply giving me more headaches.
All of these things make my mission significantly harder.
As does trying to decide if we're moving too fast.
As does having to come in second to her career.
As does my best friend herself when she finally has to decide what our future together looks like.
To the company I work for, my main objective is to find and eliminate the unidentified threat that's been stalking one of their most valuable assets.
But to me?
My only job is to protect the love of my life - or die trying.

Does He Know? Is a forbidden age gap romance that had me wanting to embrace these characters from the very first moment.
Emerson has the next chapter of her life rolled out and despite having an older brother and his friends being protective, she knows that she's in good hands. But there's one particular person that she wishes would see her as something more. Too bad he's not only off limits, he's her brother's friend.
Being ten years older than a woman you've constantly thought about is not a fun reminder. Add in the fact that she's your best friend's little sister will have anyone feeling off kilter and that's no different for Roman.Emerson has been a part of his life for so long that he doesn't remember what life was like before. Now that she's back home for the summer and working with him and her brother at their tattoo shop, seeing her everyday is going to be difficult.
I really liked the attraction between Roman and Emerson. You felt it looming and when they were in a room together, it was game over. I also loved the family dynamic and the side characters because they played such an important role in the main characters' lives. They were a tight knit group and they celebrated each other's victories and leaned on each other when times were tough.
My issue with this one was that it was a bit repetitive and dragged out. I needed more from them as a couple and certain things felt anti climatic. Towards the end also felt rushed to me and I would've loved to see certain things play out a bit more. Aside from that, I think if you're a fan of brother's best friend romance, you might enjoy this one more.
