“Sexy, heartfelt--did I mention sexy? With the perfect touch of the forbidden, Melanie Harlow has outdone herself with single dad Mack and Frannie’s story!”
-- Ilsa Madden-Mills, Wall Street Journal bestselling author
Irresistible, an all-new fun and swoony standalone from USA Today bestselling author Melanie Harlow, is available now!
Have you ever read a book that from the very first page you had an immediate good feeling? Deep down you know that this one is going to have minimal drama, lovable characters, a splash of forbidden, and a feel good relatable storyline that makes you enjoy being in the moment. I couldn’t have asked for a better romantic story and I’m so glad that I took a chance on this one.
Being a single dad is not the easiest thing in the world but being a single dad to three girls under the age of thirteen? Someone needs to hand this man a medal. From hair braiding, to ballet class, to arguments over who's turn it is to pick a movie, Mack has seen and done it all for his girls. His entire lives purpose is to support and be there for his kids and everything else is going to take a back seat. Unfortunately that includes his love life. With temptation brewing in the form of his nanny and boss's daughter, will Mack be able to indulge with the woman he’s wanted for over a year?
Frannie has always been sheltered throughout her entire childhood. Due to a scary heath condition, her parents has always treated her like she was made of glass and now that she’s a twenty seven year old woman, they still see her as breakable. Being the Nanny to three of most beautiful girls is one of the highlights of her life but having to see their Dad on a daily basis and not combust? Well that’s an everyday miracle that is quickly starting to lose it’s power. What will happen when these two decide to give in for one night only?
I really loved the bond that Mack had with each of his daughters and it showed just how much he cared for all of them. He was protective, loving, vulnerable and hilariously animated. I couldn’t get enough of those girls and I loved that their personalities were strong forces in this story. It wasn’t easy at times and there was certainly a lot of screw ups, but every moment was a learning experience and they took it in stride.
If you love a hot single dad romance , then I highly recommend this one.
Excerpt:
I was holding my breath. I wasn’t even sure why, but it was something about the way Mack was looking at me. And the tension in his body—the taut muscles in his neck. The grip of his fingers on the edge of the counter. The set of his jaw. It gave the impression of restraint. Like he was holding himself back. Something unfamiliar hummed in the air between us. I could feel it—he wanted me the way I wanted him. No wonder I couldn’t breathe. Then he cleared his throat and turned away from me, cutting off the current. “Sure. Everybody needs to make mistakes now and then.” I’d forgotten I’d even asked the question. He turned the sink on, rinsed his dishes, and placed them in the dishwasher. I stood there staring at his muscular back, at the width of his shoulders, at the snug fit of his jeans on his butt. If I were his and he were mine, I’d go over and wrap my arms around his waist, press my cheek to his back. Then he’d turn around, winding his arms around me. He’d lower his lips to mine, and— “I should get you home,” he said, interrupting my fantasy. “Want to grab your coat?” “Sure.” But I didn’t really want to leave. I wanted to stay in this warm, chaotic house with him and the girls. Pretend I belonged here. Pretend I belonged to him.Pieces of Us

“Swoon-worthy, forbidden, and sexy, Liam North is my new obsession.” – New York Times bestselling author Claire Contreras
Forbidden fruit never tasted this sweet...
Overture, an all new sexy and forbidden love story from New York Times bestselling author Skye Warren, is available now!
Anyone that knows me knows that I’m a sucker for forbidden romance. I get crazy stupid and my morals takes a back seat for the duration of the story because forbidden love stories will always give you that rush of excitement and let me tell you, this story was no different.
Samantha Brooks is a violin child prodigy. Nothing has ever gave her that feeling of pure contentment than when she starts to play her own music and nothing ever will. Six years ago her life took a drastic turn and because of that, she was now in the care of the very complicated Liam North. Now With just a few more months until she graduates high school and goes on tour, Samantha is going to embark on a new journey that is ultimately going to take her away from the one person who means the most to her. What will happen when the lines become blur for Liam and Samantha?
Liam never had it easy growing up as a child. His past is full of open wounds that just refuses to close but by some miracle, he has managed to make a better life for himself and take care of his younger brothers in the process. Becoming the guardian of a little girl who had no one to stand up for her was a no brainer for him and he’s never regretted that decision. Her safety means everything to him and he will stop at nothing to ensure that her needs are met. But now that Samantha is about to leave, the air is different, that special bond that they’ve always had just became a little bit stronger, but there’s something more: Passion.
“I’m not sure what right and wrong means when it comes to us.”
Besides the forbidden aspect of this story, I really loved the fact that there was a bit of mystery. I wasn’t really sure where this was going to go and I loved that. The unknown kept me intrigued, the silent longing had me begging for something ANYTHING with these characters to happen, but their commitment and dedication to me was passionate and such a driving force that I appreciated and admired it.
Now as for that ending…..
What am I supposed to do with that?! Do I just hang out on the author’s front steps waiting until I can get my hands on part 2?! Now that I think about it, that’s not a bad idea.
Excerpt:
The memory of our last talk heats the air between us—about condoms and sex. And the way he walked in on me when I moaned his name. God. I’m not sure I can stand another talk like that. “I’m not naive, Liam. I know you took me in because I didn’t have anywhere else to go.” A muscle in his jaw ticks. “That wasn’t exactly the reason. And even though I didn’t know you before I took custody, I’ve grown to care about you over the years. If I didn’t state it clearly enough, then the fault lies with me. I wasn’t raised to show… affection.” I stare at him, incredulous. Affection? It’s a cold comfort to a girl who’s always wanted the surety of forever. And the word might as well be alien to a man like him. “I’m going to tour the country. The world. I’m leaving, Liam.” He looks away. “Christ.” Unease moves through me. “Did you really think I wouldn’t come back?” “I don’t know why you would want to.” “Because I care about you.” Liam is six feet of pure muscle and hard will. There’s no way someone like me could go up against him and win. Except that when I take a step closer, he tenses. Another step and he goes still as stone. It gives me a sense of power, enough that I take the final step. “I care about you even though you’re controlling.” There’s only an inch between the ruffle of my blouse and the flat of his abs. “You think I’m going to apologize for keeping you safe?” he mutters. “You think I give a damn that you’re mad at me as long as you’re in one piece? That’s the only thing that matters.” “Because you think of me like a daughter?” He shakes his head slowly, not breaking eye contact. “No.” “No?” I whisper. “When I walked in on you…” His voice is hoarse. “I didn’t think of you like a daughter.” I should probably be horrified that he would think about me in any way other than family, except I’m the one who started it. I take a step closer, and there’s nowhere for him to go. He’s already backed up against the wall. This big, strong man who could probably make a whole army quake—or at least a battalion. And he’s cornered by me. This close I can see the green of his eyes, so dark they’re almost emerald, flecked with gold. A scar bisects one dark eyebrow, probably a scar from something terrifying and deadly. “How did you think of me?” I’m afraid to know the answer, but I’m even more terrified of never knowing. Of being a nameless, faceless body in that writhing crowd, hooking up with a stranger when the man I really want is standing right in front of me, inches away, his breath a feather-touch on my forehead. A small shake of his head. “It’s not right.” I’m not sure what right and wrong mean when it comes to us, but I know what it means for music. Someone can play a piece with perfect timing and notation. They can hit every single note, but it still won’t have passion. That part comes from inside. “Then be wrong with me. Don’t make me do it alone.” I push up on my toes, pressing my lips against his in a blind, artless kiss. I’m off center of his mouth, kissing the corner. He stands still as a statue, letting me wobble on my heels, letting me fall against him, only my broken kiss to balance me. Grief beats against my ribs. He’s going to make me do it alone. Of course he is. I’m always alone. A small sound escapes me. Loneliness. Pain. It vibrates against his mouth, sound made real. He jolts as if I’ve shocked him. Something unspools inside him. I feel it in the inch of air between us. And then I feel it in my lips. He takes over the kiss with shocking possession, his hand behind my head, his body turning us so I’m against the wall. He looms in front of me, blocking out the view. There are no vinyl records on the wall, no bass thrumming through concrete and steel. There’s only him, only this. How is it possible that only a few minutes ago I felt powerful? I didn’t know what this would be. I couldn’t know the way I’d revel in surrender. His tongue touches the seam of my lips, a pure electric sensation that makes me jump. I part my lips in surprise, pulling in the scent of him—man and earth, salt and sea. He tastes elemental. His tongue swipes the tender inside of my bottom lip. It’s more sensitive there than I could have imagined. I feel the slickness of the caress all the way in my core. My thighs clench together. So careful. So wary. I touch my tongue against his. He’s the one who groans. His hand fists in my hair, creating a delicious little ache. “Do you know what you’re doing to me?” he breathes, and I try to shake my head; it only makes him pull harder. “Liam… I need…” It’s like the bedroom when he walked in on me, my hips rocking, mindless, hungry. Worse than that. My whole body is moving restlessly against him. He tears himself away with a hard sound. Only an inch away. A rough tremor runs through him. It’s a small comfort, knowing that I’ve moved this man. Knowing how much control he has, knowing it’s eroded. But only a small comfort. He still leaves me panting against the door. “I’m supposed to protect you,” he says, his voice taut with guilt.About Skye Warren

It’s not my fault they line up at the door. They catch my balls all right, two at a time sometimes, or even three. Believe me, everybody wins.
At least they did—until the video. I heard TMZ paid a million for a bird’s eye view of Homer on his A-game. The only folks who didn’t watch with eager eyes? Red Sox management. They want me benched, or worse, shipped off to rehab.
It’s a long story, what happens next. How I end up on a boat, bound for the world’s most remote island: Tristan da Cunha. Just a speck of dust in the Atlantic.
Except my heart is there.
I don’t know that when I step onto the boat.
I don’t know a lot of things.
What I’ll covet…
What I’ll lose…
Killswitch brought out of the devil in one of the most hated and redeemable characters that Penelope Douglas has ever written. We were fearful and quite frankly treading on thin ice with the very unpredictable Damon Torrance and we had no choice but to wait with bated breaths to see what he going to do. Will he start a fire in his wake of destruction or will that small part of him that is capable of compassion surprise us?
I think it’s safe to say that everyone was waiting for this book and the fact that it was about one of our favorite horsmen turned villain, we were practically begging for anything that was related to this story. Damon Torrance is not your ordinary hero and he has no problem telling you that. There is only one thing on that man’s mind and it’s revenge. For three years he’s been waiting and plotting for the downfall of the woman who sent him to prison in the first place. Three years, 36 months of no freedom and now he has her right where he wants her: Under his thumb.
Winter is very different from most girls but that’s what makes her so special. With a passion for ballet dancing and having a bit of independence, life is not bad for this twenty one year old. But her calm just got a storm in the form of the devil himself in a three piece suit and life as she knows it, is about to go up in smoke. After all, revenge is about to be served and Damon is taking everything.
Alternating between the past and present, this story took you through the ups and downs of each character’s personal turmoil, their highs, and their all time lows while at the same time uncovering secrets and betrayals that were right under their noses. I loved seeing everyone back together and I couldn’t get enough of Damon even though he was messed up. They say we always try to fix the broken ones and my heart hurt for this man and I wanted nothing more than to put him back together because he deserved to be whole even if it was only temporary.
If you’re a fan of Corrupt, then you’re going to enjoy this one so just sit back, relax, and let Damon take care of everything.
With bated breaths, we were all wishing and hoping for Reese’s own story after witnessing the outcome of the Duet. With fingers crossed and time on our time on our side, we got our wish and the countdown to his happily ever after began. After all of the heartbreak and drama, this man was going to find the love of his life but the biggest question was, who was going to be the woman that would steal his heart?
“She was the light I thought I’d never see again, the purpose I thought I’d lost forever”.
It’s been two years since Reese’s world was crushed by a woman whom he worshipped. Two years since he’s heard those dreaded two words of “I’m sorry” from the lips of someone he would’ve laid down his life for. Two years and the heartache is still there, the wound is still fresh, and those shared moments have now turned into distant memories he wishes he could drown out. Whoever said that some love was painful and sacrifices were endless, were not wrong in that assessment.
Being a piano teacher and player has been Reese’s saving grace through this messed up turmoil. Every note played was like a balm for his soul, every melody and music sheet, made the pain a little bit more bearable but it was always there in the background silently waiting but letting you know that it’s presence is going to be known one way or the other. When he’s ask to help out his Boss’s niece who’s recovering from a strained injury, life as he knows it is going to be filled with a string of firsts.
Sarah Henderson has gone through a traumatic year to say the least. Hoping for a fresh start by staying with her Aunt and Uncle, she is now being taught by one of the pianist of her time. Working closely with your instructor is fine but falling for him? That’s frowned upon. With both of them holding secrets of their own and a past that they can never seem to escape, how will these two lost souls find their missing piece in each other?
“I knew he saw the same pain in me that I saw in him. And maybe that was the only reason we saw it all-because we lived it. You had to understand what that felt like to be able to recognize it, like there was an exclusive club for the eternally heartbroken”.
I normally don’t do this in my reviews but I feel like I need to address this first before I go any further. I was given a warning about the prologue by a very good blogger friend of mine and because our emotions are 90% of the time different, I overlooked that warning and thought that it was going to be nothing. I was wrong. I never saw it coming and my heart broke!! That moment solidified the book and changed every single character that was a part of the story. It was raw, real, heartbreaking and we felt the guilt and the anger and frustration as if it was our own. Not only do I applaud this author for writing this, she has managed to capture the true essence and stages of emotional turmoil.
Now back to my review: It was no surprise that I loved Reese in the previous two books but I fell for him more in this one. Knowing that this was his journey to finding love and having peace when he was faced with so much turmoil made me root for him even more. I loved his strength but I admired his vulnerability. Sarah was his perfect match and I’m glad to see that everything came full circle.
If you’re a fan of this author’s work, then this one is not to be missed.
Everyone says I’m a bad girl. They’re only partly right—I don’t let fear rule me, and I certainly don’t care what people think. But I draw the line at sleeping with the enemy. As the daughter of Briar’s head hockey coach, I’d be vilified if I hooked up with a player from a rival team.
And that’s who Jake Connelly is. Harvard’s star forward is arrogant, annoying, and too attractive for his own good. But fate is cruel—I require his help to secure a much-coveted internship, and the sexy jerk isn’t making it easy for me.
I need Connelly to be my fake boyfriend.
For every fake date…he wants a real one.
Which means this bad girl is in big trouble. Nothing good can come from sneaking around with Jake Connelly. My father would kill me, my friends will revolt, and my post-college career is on the line. But while it’s getting harder and harder to resist Jake’s oozing sex appeal and cocky grin, I refuse to fall for him.
That’s the one risk I’m not willing to take.
Well it’s official: I have a MAJOR girl crush on Elle Kennedy!! The way she portrays these characters and makes us wish we were a part of their circle is unreal! I need to have lunch with these women, go clubbing and curse the hangover God’s with these girls because I know they would make it that much bearable. This was the perfect NA enemies to lovers romance that I was so desperately craving and it did not disappoint.
Being the daughter of the one of the best hockey coach in College history comes with a bit of publicity and for Brenna, she's not shy about anything. Beautiful, confident , smart, and a bit of a ball buster, this girl knows exactly what she wants and she’s not afraid to get it. When a lifetime opportunity pops up for her to jump start her future career, Brenna realizes that she’s going to need help. Unfortunately that means making a deal with the one guy whom she wishes would get permanent diarrhea.
Jake Connelly already knows what he wants out of life. With strong loving parents, a kick ass best friend,, and the best teammates anyone could ever ask for, having a long standing career is next for this upcoming superstar and he's more than determined in staying focused. But when an offer from the biggest rival piques his interest, how can he say no to the dark haired red lip beauty? You know what they say about sleeping with the enemy……
I just want to shout from the rooftops how much I loved Jake and Brenna's funny banter and chemistry!! This author nailed it with every interaction, insult and unexpected foreplay. I adored Jake and I liked that he knew exactly who he was and he never apologized for it. Brenna was the type of girl who if you didn’t know her personally, you would hate her on site because of jealousy. She was tough but she also showed a vulnerable side which was not easy and I liked that she gave that part of herself to Jake.
Even though this is the second book in the series, I’m already in love with all off the side characters and I cannot wait for their books!! At this point I really don’t even care who's up next, I just want their book! If I could stay in their world a little bit more longer, I would do it without hesitation because these are some of the best characters I’ve read about in a while.
Aside from being slow in the beginning, I really enjoyed this one and if you love a funny enemies to lovers romance, then this one is for you.
Elle currently writes for various publishers. She loves strong heroines and sexy alpha heroes, and just enough heat and danger to keep things interesting!
