Synopsis

"Girls like you aren't exactly welcomed at a place like this, so keep your head down and look the other way."

Those were the exact words of my social worker when she dropped me in my newest hellhole, a place for "troubled teens".

I didn't listen, and now I'm on their radar.

They expect me to play along in their games of hierarchy, to fall in line in the social order they've deemed me fit.

Too bad for them, I don't follow rules.
Too bad for me, they're determined to make sure I do.

Inconceivably attractive and treated like kings...these are the boys of Brayshaw High.

And I'm the girl who got in their way.

From the second I saw the blurb for Boys of Brayshaw High, I freaked the fuck out!! I knew this book was going to be for me, and I proceeded to yell about it to my friends and make countless people put it on their tbr and read it. I may have also threatened to unfriend some people that knew about it but didn't tell me. LOL I mean, I take the whole sharing is caring thing very seriously.

You may assume that since I was so ready to devour this book that I'd read Meagan Brandy's work before. That assumption would be wrong. This was going to be my first time venturing into her writing, and I was just crossing my fingers like a motherfucker that the book was going to be everything I wanted it to be. There was just so much potential for it to become a book that I would absolutely adore, because it's exactly the kind of story I search out on a regular basis. I am complete trash for YA and NA novels revolving around the group of guys that rule the school and the new girl that they gets their attention. They're usually mean to the girl, at least at first, and for me, that makes it even better. Asshole alphas are my favorite, and if you give me more than one, I'm like putty in your hands. Think The Royals series by Erin Watt or the Fallen Crest series by Tijan. If those books blow your skirt up, you will lose your mind for this one!

That being said, Boys of Brayshaw is not a carbon copy of either one of those series at all. It has it's own unique storyline and amazing cast of characters for you to fall in love with, and fall I did! Maddoc, Royce, and Cap are three men that I will never forget! I adore each and every one of them, and I wish with everything I am that Meagan would have made this book Reverse Harem! Raven is definitely a heroine that could handle all 3 guys, and she has such a special relationship with each one that it would actually be believable. I mourn the fact that this will likely never happen, but in a perfect world, all three dudes at the same damn time!! 🙌🏻 That's the only thing that could make me love this story more, but I digress.

Raven, the daughter of a drug addicted prostitute, gets removed from her home by social services and brought to a girl's group home in the town of Brayshaw. Once she gets there, she's sent to Brayshaw High where she meets the kings of the Brayshaw kingdom a.k.a. the Boys of Brayshaw, Maddoc, Royce, and Captain. The guys aren't very welcoming to her at first, but it isn't long before they see Raven is different than what they expected her to be. She's strong, confident, take no bullshit, loyal, and despite her trying to hide it underneath a steel exterior, she has a good heart. They go from pushing her away to pulling her in, and not everybody is happy about the change. Some people are downright bitter and go to great lengths to break them apart. Bribery, blackmail, and even violence, they will stop at nothing to make sure Raven leaves Brayshaw for good.

Boys of Brayshaw High was everything I hoped it would be and a fuck ton more! It's a big ass book, but I couldn't put it down! I was captivated from the very beginning until the very end, and honestly, I haven't gone a day without thinking about it since! If you've heard the term " MadDickFog" getting thrown around recently, that shit's real!

Meagan Brandy's writing sucked me in and kept my eyes glued to the page practically salivating for more. All the main characters intrigued me, made me laugh, pissed me off, broke my heart and put it back together again a few times before capturing it completely. The romance between Raven and Maddoc drove me mad with anticipation and the sexual tension and angst of it all twisted me up in the most delicious ways!

The steam level was perfect for the story, too, and just FYI, there is one scene in particular that may require a change of underwear! It's also one of my favorite parts of the book, and I wish it would have went even further! Hint hint, Meagan! LOL

In case you can't tell by now, I HIGHLY recommend Boys of Brayshaw High to everyone that is even the slightest bit interested in the blurb or the hype. It deserves all of the buzz it's getting! Give it a chance, and then come talk to me about how much you loved it when you're done! We can fangirl together, and believe me, you'll need the support until the next installment comes out!

This book is definitely going on my list of best books of 2019! Yes, I know it's only January, but it's THAT GOOD!! I won't be surprised if it becomes one of my favorite series of all time!! Grab this one asap, y'all! You won't regret it!!

Excerpt

“You’re Raven Carver, aren’t you?”
I face forward with a frown.
“Sorry, but Maybell told me you were coming today. I didn’t think you’d be at school already, but usually the only new kids who come are people from the home.”
“Yeah, well, I wasn’t exactly given an option so, here I am.”
“Are you gonna run?”
I laugh lightly, shifting my eyes to hers. “Nah. I’ve got nowhere to be. Now I’m stuck in the system ‘til I’m eighteen anyway, so fuck it. May as well cruise through.”
“Those guys back there, you need to be careful. They’re… not like most high schoolers. People around here listen to them, follow their every move.”
So those are the guys the chick was referring to this morning.
“What you did today? They won’t allow that without getting you back. They can’t.” She shakes her head.
“I keyed his Denali.” I shrug. “Big fucking deal.”
The girl stops, her eyes widening. “Yeah, you got that part right. It is a ‘big fucking deal.’ If they let some nobody, new girl like you – no offense – openly disrespect them like that, it’ll threaten their entire system.”
“System.”
“Yeah. System. They’re a big deal around here, and not just at the school. You either kneel at their feet or get stomped under them. They’ll make sure you’re shamed, one way or another.”
We make our way up the dirt driveway. “He disrespected me first. If there’s one thing I know about guys, it’s if you let them walk all over you, they’ll take pleasure in doing it.”
The girl steps ahead, pulling open the screen door as she looks back at me. “If there’s one thing I know about the boys of Brayshaw, it’s that they’ll destroy anything that threatens to mess up their vision. Watch out, Raven. Your little stunt today may have gotten the guys you’re used to off your back, but for these guys? All you did was paint the mark brighter.”
I raise a black brow and she scowls at me.
“A target from them means a target from all their followers,” she spits.
Right. “Let me guess… you’re a follower?”

This time it’s her who pops an eyebrow. “Welcome to Brayshaw High.
