For The Love of English by A.M Hargrove is my first book of the author. And to be honest, this is one of those books that I enjoyed reading not because of the thrill but because I became invested right from the start and I feel like I am being swayed and lost in the story.
True, reading this book feels so different. I admit my interest was captured when I read the blurb because who wouldn't? Sexy Single Dad Romance is just so fun and enjoyable to read, and when you say single dad I usually thought of it as being HOT and I am really a sucker for that. But....
FOR THE LOVE OF ENGLISH is SO MUCH MORE!
For one, the characters are easy love. They had this chemistry that so sizzling and so undeniable yet so frustrating at times you do not know who to punch or kick ass but at the same time you just want to hug them so tight. Because of the steady pacing of the story and the vivid story telling you will not get only glimpses of them but you will have the moment to savor their journey from being Parent-Teacher, to "enemies" to friends and then later on to being couples. It's not an insta-love romance but you will get to enjoy the growth of both the characters as well the blooming of the relationship. Please don't get me started with their hot scenes because I tell you, it was one hot of a sex scene! Those bathroom scenes for eff's sake! Cold shower is not enough and it wasn't just a one time thing. And well, not only that because this sexy dad is one hella of a dirty talker and is capable of doing dirty and filthy things to you.

Yes! he's not just a great father but he's a great lover too. And is being paired to someone you may think so innocent but could swear like a sailor you will be in awe of her mouthy transformation from a teacher of six year old bunch of rugrats to a dirty lover too. She has her own baggage but she wears it confidently. She might not often talk about it but she's a strong woman and knows how to handle herself. And well,as a mom?? She nailed it! Yep, told you they had a great chemistry.
And of course, it wouldn't be entitled For The Love of English withoutENGLISH right? Yeah, this cute, quirky adorable baby is really the STAR of the SHOW! She did not stole it, she OWNED it! She made my reading one hella of fun. I couldn't stop myself from laughing on her antics and grinning from ear to ear. This cutie is just so adorable you will feel like you wanna adopt the kid. And her interactions with her family is just a blast!
Seriously, it's a good story to read. It's on point, fun, lighthearted may be and angst-ish, what with the biological mother and all those issues that arise but above all, it was written well and a good book portraying the love of a single dad who will do anything and everything just to protect the his kid. It's a good story of a portrayal of what a family should be despite past, despite issues, despite ups and downs. And indeed when I finished reading the book, I said to myself that this book should be read not just for my fellow readers but to be shared also to all the single dads out there that all they're efforts are admired and loved.
To the author, a great job done! You just delivered a beautiful story of single dad, his love for his kid, romance and a family in whole totality that just blended so well and with a great substance that made me captivated from beginning until the end. And oh, you made me cry and made my heart gripped so tight. But you made me laugh too and you left me with a beautiful smile and a warm heart.
A must read!
