What he wasn't expecting was for Maggie to become so attached to him and literally plan out their futures at such a young age. Being a kid should be the easiest and happiest time of their lives but when tragedy strikes, stripping Maggie's voice and her sense of innocence, Brooks makes it his life's mission to be there for her.
This is where is Brooks and Maggie's story begins and let me tell you, it wasn't easy for them. Every relationship Maggie had with her family members changed drastically, some for the better, some for the worse but her love for Brooks always remained the same. He was there for when she was at her lowest and loved her unconditionally. I have to say my absolute favorite parts were the letters because they showed how deep their connection was and whatever they were feeling whether it was anger or happiness, they portrayed it in their own way.
Maggie and Brooks certainly weren't perfect but they were perfect for each other. They were passionate, loving, and knew what it meant to sacrifice something for the one you love. Buuuuuut I had a big issue with something and I hated that it took so long for it to get better and seeing how it's a major part of the story, I won't go into details. Aside from that, if you love a good emotional story, The Silent Waters is for you.
