Reluctant step-siblings Julia and Colin meet for the first time at an engagement party for their parents, and dislike each other on sight despite their undeniable physical chemistry. They soon find they have a common interest, though – stopping the inappropriate and hasty marriage of her mother to his father.

When they discover that the recent death of her father might have had something to do with his father’s business, the common interest turns them into allies. But what will they do about their own sizzling chemistry?

Recoil, Book One is the first novella in a serialized trilogy. Books Two and Three will be released quickly, but I couldn’t wait any longer to bring you the first part of the story.

This book has a potential! When you love a story with stepsiblings that doesn't just focus in their romance / love story / love banters but with a twist that will make you asking for more then definitely this book is for you. In fact, I myself was captivated immediately when I read the blurb and I know right there and then this is what I needed. Recoil Part One is the first novella of the serialized trilogy which is a fast paced quick read story that got me hooked not because this is a step sibling story, (well that's a given)... ;) ..
But because of the twist and turn of the events. The characters are lovable with a chemistry that's so undeniable. Even if it was just a novella, and just too short for my liking, I was instantly in love with the lead characters of the story. I even like how it was written...not the usual step sibling stuff but with a twist that made me keep on turning the pages and got me frustrated because i hit "To be continued..."
Like seriously???
My only complaint though is that there were points that was too rushed for me but all in all I love the story...this made me eager to read the next part more. I mean I know there's something with this story that I need to read and find out.
To, Ms. Jessa Jacobs..thanks for a wonderful story.
Can't wait for the next one!

She probably got him to propose by twining him around her elegant, slender finger and then refusing his advances without a ring on it. Nothing I said had swayed him. He was hell-bent on marrying her, and not only that, but marrying her in indecent haste. In a few moments, I'd be expected to join him, his fiancée, and her daughter at the head table as Dad made his announcement of their engagement.

As the moment approached, I spent more time trying to read the daughter's body language from across the room. She seemed to have a chip on her shoulder about something. Her pose was all fire compared to her mother's ice, though. When Dad said something to her, she retorted with enough heat to make him flinch back. What was her problem? She'd probably end up with a windfall of a couple of billion dollars when her mom wore my poor dad down, and he died begging for a quickie.

The daughter wasn't my type, but I could imagine she'd be a spitfire in bed. I'd soon have her tamed, though, by wrapping my fingers in that long hair and riding her like...

Well, that line of thought had to stop. In moments, I'd be forced to walk across the room with everyone's eyes on me. Doing that while sporting a massive erection was not my idea of fun.

Like you, I’m a reader. When I read a good story with characters I can connect with, my everyday existence fades into the background as I enter a world that may contain exotic locations, adventure and excitement. And, if I can be totally honest with you, in my favorite stories I can fall in love for a while with an impossibly gorgeous guy who is the best lover imaginable.

So, maybe it won’t come as a surprise that in my books you’ll find hot alpha male book-boyfriends, sassy heroines who are much more clever and beautiful than I am, and stories I hope will make you laugh and cry while reading them, as I did while writing them. Oh, and some scenes you may want to role-play with your lover.

When I’m not writing (which is almost never) I enjoy reading, hiking in the foothills near Denver, live blues music, karaoke and now and then indulging in her karaoke habit.
