The door slamming makes me squeal in fright as Kane steps closer to me.
“Scared, Princess?”
“Of you?” I ask with a smirk. Leaning in, I stop right before our noses touch. “Never.”
“Wrong fucking answer, baby.”
His fingers tighten a beat before his lips slam down on mine.
My fingers claw at the hand that’s still holding me around the throat as I keep my lips together, refusing to give into him. We need to talk. We need to act like grown-ups, not sex-crazed teenagers.

Keeping my lips firmly closed, I shake my head.
