Book Review:The Summer Games by R.S Grey

May 4, 2016

From the USA TODAY Bestselling author of Scoring Wilder, comes a sexy new standalone novel.

As an Olympic rookie, Andie Foster has spent far more time in her cleats than between the sheets. For 21 years, her Friday nights have consisted of blocking shots rather than taking them. But now that she's landed in Rio, she's ready to see for herself if the rumors about the Olympic Village are true:

The athletes are all sex-crazed maniacs...  The committee passes out condoms like candy...  The games continue long after the medals have been handed out...  As Andie walks the line between rumor and reality, she's forced into the path of Frederick Archibald, a decorated Olympic swimmer and owner of a sexy British accent--too bad he's unavailable in a way that "it's complicated" doesn't even begin to explain.

In other words: off limits.

It doesn't matter that he has abs that could bring peace to the Middle East and a smile that makes even the Queen blush; Andie fully intends on keeping her focus on the soccer field. But the Village is small. Suffocating. Everywhere Andie goes, Freddie happens to be there--shirtless, wet from the pool, and determined to show her a whole new meaning of the phrase "international affairs".

Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.

4 STARS

" When the flame is lit, let the games begin".

After reading this book, all I want to do right now is just book a a flight and take my ass to to Brazil for the Olympic Summer Games!! I want to be a part of the women's soccer team, have drinks with Andie and the rest of the girls while we ogle the oh so sexy Frederick Archibold. Will that actually happen? HELL NO. But a girl can dream.

Andie Foster has sacrificed a lot of herself the last few years. Her social life is in the tank and her love life needs reviving STAT. But despite all of that , she's determined to finally have some fun in Brazil and winning a gold medal while there would be the icing on her cake. What could possibly go wrong with that plan right?

Enter Frederick Archibold.

British bad boy √

Frederick is looking to break his previous record in this Olympics and no amount of distraction is going to get in the way of that. What he wasn't planning on is meeting soccer's newest upcoming star,Andie. From the moment they met, everything else became irrelevant for the time being and despite being socially unavailable, they both crossed a line that had dire consequences.

" What if I want to be with you? "He asked. I shook my head. "I'm currently unavailable."The edge of his mouth perked up like I'd just declared a challenge he couldnt pass up".

Who's gonna win this game? Will Andie and Frederick give in to their desires and walk away with more than just a gold medal?

I really enjoyed this one. I loved Andie and Freddie together. This was a fun sexy read with a kickass setting! I was happy to see Kingsley and Becca were still crazy as ever and I loved the epilogues. I think this author love us because she didn't just give us one epilogue. Oh no. She gave us two and I was really happy about that. So if you love sports romance, this is the book for you. Now excuse me while I go plan my imaginary trip to "Rio".
