Release Blitz + Book Review : The Girl in the Love Song by Emma Scott

June 7, 2020

At Santa Cruz Central High School, they called them the misfits, the outcasts, the weirdos. But most of us knew them as the Lost Boys…

The Girl in the Love Song, book one in the Lost Boys, an interconnected coming-of-age series of standalones, from USA Today bestselling author Emma Scott, is live!

Miller Stratton is a survivor. After a harrowing childhood of poverty, he will do anything it takes to find security for himself and his mom. He’s putting all his hopes and dreams in the fragile frame of his guitar and the beauty he creates with its strings and his soulful voice.

Until Violet.

No one expects to meet the love of their life at age thirteen. But the spunky rich girl steals Miller’s heart and refuses to give it back.

Violet McNamara’s life hasn’t been as simple as it looks. Her picture-perfect family is not so perfect after all. Her best friend Miller is her one constant and she is determined not to ruin their friendship with romantic complications.

But the heart wants what it wants. As Miller’s star begins to rise to stratospheric heights, what will it take for Violet to realize that she’s the girl in all of his love songs?

The Girl in the Love Song features two original songs written by Emma herself.

"A person often meets her destiny on the road she takes to avoid it."

Get ready for all the feels as Emma Scott penned again an emotional, angsty and well written tale that explored not just romance but a subject matter that will surely consume and own you from start to finish.

Miller and Violet's journey will captivate you right from the very first page. Written in dual perspective, I was lost in their tale, captivated at how it was brilliantly crafted. Formatted in a way that brought me back to my childhood years, I was hooked by the diary sort of things and I was just reading the first few pages. First I had that smile and dreamy look in my face until my heart ached for a teenage boy and soul crushed for that teenage girl , then I had that hope in my heart for love, life and forgiveness. Right there and then, I declared the book a 5 star read already.

Who wouldn't? With a story of more than just childhood friends to lovers and that rockstar romance which was just actually an icing on the cake, I tell you, this book is EVERYTHING. I just fell in love, HARD! So much that it hurts and I need to get it out of my system. I just actually finished reading The Girl In The Love Song and the first thing that came to my mind was, I need to write my review because I need to reach out Emma Scotts fan and newbie readers alike to READ THIS BOOK. Read and savor it because this book will surely move you. It will have you just by the blurb alone. I know, because it did mine, And I am still riding the high of highs with all the feels. Damn! It was just so damn good. The intensity of what I felt still lingered and I might have shed a tear or two. But seriously, the FEELS. It was, UNEXPLAINABLE,. There are no words that best describe it.

Overall, I would definitely love for you to read this book. Beside all the feel, is a definite appreciation you will have for Emma Scott because she consistently pen a tale with an outstanding character development both for the main and secondary one's. You'll surely love it because she crafted it with preciseness. You'll laugh and cry with them and this is why I rooted for every Emma Scott book. Her passion, heart and soul is shown to every word she's written. It felt so REAL and I love her and her works just because of that. She always brings her characters to life it's just so breathtaking.

You aced it again Emma! A woman like me can only read and feel so much. But I am glutton for all the feels you can give from your work. So bring on those FEELS.

"Too much. To good. It can't be real. Can't last. Nothing this good ever does."
