When I was a little girl, I dreamed a handsome knight would come and rescue me from my wretched mother. He’d ride up on his white steed and break the curse I’ve been fated to carry since the day I was born.
Funny how things changed over time. How the fairy tale twisted into something far more crooked, darker than I ever imagined.
In reality, my knight is scarred and broken, living alone in a castle of bones that overlooks the sea. He isn’t searching for me. He never was.
Lucian Blackthorne is as cursed as I am, and equally shunned by the locals, the fishers of men, who believe him to be the devil in the flesh.
Perhaps he is, with the way his amber eyes draw me in, ignite me like an infernal blaze. And the sins he whispers in my ear are as wickedly intoxicating as the man himself.
Yet, his touch is heaven and his will is my weakness.
He calls us forbidden, an unsalvageable tragedy, with no happy end. Maybe we are. But in this story, her's the one who needs saving.

Ok… I felt like I went through some dark crazy alluring mystery that has left me suspended in not wanting to go to sleep for fear of dreaming about a haunting castle that gives me the creeps, or just having a sly smirk on my face permanently because I enjoyed the heck out of these characters despite their crazy!!
When I first read the blurb for this story, I knew that I wanted to read it because this author has always managed to deliver and give us these messed up bad ass heroes who deep down, have something out of the ordinary and these men would do anything for their heroines. This story was no different of course but it much more complex than I would have ever expected. Master of Salt and Bones is creepily haunting with a touch of goth and the passion and aura of sex goes over your skin like a long feather stroke. It’s goosebumps inducing with a mixture of hold on to your seat thriller that you will want to experience over and over despite the madness.
Together, we are madness. And there is music in madness, and madness in love.
Lucian Blackthorne is a man that as much as you would like to sum him up with a few words, you can’t. complicated, messed up in the head, protector, broken, survivor, powerful, scarred, the list goes on and yet there is still a lot more to be said about the man who puts fear into people by just mentioning his name. When he hires a young beauty to be his mother’s companion and live at the house, Lucian has no clue that this woman is going to work her way into the organ that he thought was once rotten and black. His heart.
When you live in a small town like Isadora does, there isnt much to do when it comes to having a thriving career. Needing the extra money to not only help her and her aunt, Isa agrees to a job working at the infamous Blackthorne estate despite the warnings. Caring for a member of the legendary family is one thing, but having the attention of the most powerful man is another and Isadora is about to discover a whole new world and deadly secrets.
I really enjoyed this read and I think the author did a wonderful job with incorporating the past and present because those chapters flowed nicely and we learned more about Lucian’s past. I did think that story was a bit too long and certain things dragged a bit but aside from that, this was a solid read and one of my favorites from this author.
If you’re a fan of dark twisted reads, then this book is for you.
