I have a thing for serial killers in romance.
Yeah, I'm a little weird. Whatever. At least, I acknowledge it.
(BTW, I'm always open to recommendations if you have any. Just putting that out there in case you want to help a girl out 😜.)
The one thing most of the serial killer romances I've read have in common is that the killers are always male.
The Mindf*ck series by S. T. Abby is the first series I read where the serial killer is actually the female main character!
Excited does not begin to describe what I felt when I got that bit of information!
(Not a spoiler... in case you were wondering.)
Couple that with a boyfriend in the FBI that's actively investigating the murders she commits, and I was in heaven!
If that's not enough, Lana, the female MC, is a total fucking badass! I fell deeply in love with her right away. I dare you not to!
I would go as far as to say she is one of my favorite female characters ever!
I couldn't even bring myself to be upset with her for murdering people. Her victims are the scum of the earth, and they deserve every single thing they get.
The romance in the series is incredibly complicated due to the nature of Lana and Logan's missions in life, but it just makes for a more interesting read! The stakes are higher as is the suspense!
Did I forget to mention the steam? 😏 Yeah, there's definitely some of that, too!
The whole series is about the length of a long book, so you don't even have to invest all that much time to finish the entire thing.
In short, The Mindf*ck series is incredibly intriguing, thrilling, gripping, dark, twisted, and a whole lot of fun! In fact, it's one of my favorite dark romantic suspense/thriller series of all time!
Binge read that shit!
