It’s no secret that this book has been one of my most HIGHLY anticipated reads this year and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. This author came out of nowhere and cemented her words on my heart without ever giving me a proper warning. Her storytelling is what keeps me coming back for more like an addict who doesn’t know they have a problem, but it’s the words that will do you in. It leaves you craving more and just when you think you have it all under control, she hits you with all of the feels with just one word.
Can you imagine being with someone who loved you so fiercely they would do anything to make you happy? Maggie knows that feeling because for the past ten years, she’s felt the exact same way about a man who would move heaven and earth for her. But their love wasn’t always easy and with a history like theirs, I don’t think it was ever meant to be because you know, some of the best love stories were the most complicated and heartbreaking ones.
Newly released from prison, Felix Williams has one thing on his mind and that’s getting to finally meet his baby boy. It’s been nearly two years since he’s seen the love of his life and with that acknowledgment, comes an anger that only fuels his determination in finding her and their son. Felix and Maggie went through certain things that would make anyone want to give up and not hold on to the love they created but not these two. Sure they were flawed and stubborn to the point where I seriously thought about smacking them at times, but they never forgot what they meant to each other and I loved that through the it all, their pain and sacrifice had a meaning and it was worth it. Their love was worth it. Their family was worth it. THEY were worth it.
