Looking to make a change after being a con artist for so long, Rhea Thorn is trying to live a straight upstanding life. I've been back and forth trying my best to describe Alaric and I still can't do it. He's obsessive and crazy but he's still a mystery to me. There were so many things that could have been explored with his character and it was all just at a stand still. Instead of the book being a slow burn, it had the potential to be a dark action thriller and it just fell short for me. I needed more from these characters and I was expecting a very dark gritty romance but unfortunately I didn't get that.
Overall this was an ok read and I would truly love to see a spinoff with a certain character. That's one story I will not miss. If you're looking for a semi dark light read, then you should give this one a try.

So sorry this one didn't live up to its hype, Sonya! If you're looking for something dark, with fleshed out characters... I just finished Butcher & Blackbird by Brynne Weaver and it was AMAZING!!
