    SPENCER:
When I woke to my phone ringing just after 5 am on a Sunday—my only day off—it was safe to say I wasn’t impressed. I answered the call with an abrupt, “What!” The audible gasp and berating that followed had me grumbling, “Someone better be dead, Mother.”
“After the relationship status you were tagged in on Facebook, no less, I very well could be,” was her reply.
    Relationship status?
    With who?
I immediately clicked on the app, only to find it was true.
Delilah St. James had one of those faces that was hard to forget, and I knew I’d never laid eyes on this pretty blonde with beautiful blue eyes before.
I could’ve let my assistant, PR company, or my lawyer deal with it, but against my better judgement, I clicked on the Messenger app.
“Do I know you?” I typed.
    DELILAH:
When my sister decided to post photos of her—on what was supposed to be my honeymoon—with my ex-fiancé on social media, I did something reckless and impulsive. I tagged her long-time crush, Spencer Prescott, in a fake relationship post. The last thing I expected was for him to reach out.
I apologised profusely and told him I’d take it down immediately, briefly explaining why I had done it, and he replied with something unexpected.
“Leave it up. What can it hurt?”
Minutes later, I got a friend request from his mother … immediately inviting me to brunch. I only agreed to go, so I could tell her the truth to her face.
What happened next was a domino effect that would change the course of all our lives.

I had a feeling that I was really going to enjoy this book when I first read the blurb and you know what? I was right. Humor, angst, sexual tension and an office age gap romance? Take my money why don't you!

After going through a horrible breakup and seeing her sister go on her honeymoon trip with her ex fiance, Delilah St.James does something naughty and out of the blue. Thinking that no one important is going to see her relationship status post, Lilah is shocked to see a message from her so-called boyfriend. But little does she knows, that message is only the beginning of a series of life changing events.

Spencer Prescott has everything that a successful man could ask for. He's driven, rich, has a successful company and a meddling mother that would not only do anything for him,but would love to see him settle down. Meeting Delilah was never the plan but as fate would have it, he's is about to be knocked off his feet. When a perfect opportunity arises, leave it to Spencer's mother to not only cement her mark in matchmaking, but she becomes a fierce and funny side character that you will instantly fall in love with.

I was not expecting to enjoy this book as much as I did but I'm so happy that I took a chance on this one. There were a few things about some of the side characters that grated on my nerves and I wished that the author would've delved into the reasoning behind all of it but aside from that, this was a really good read. I loved the main characters and I really liked that the hero stood his ground and knew exactly what he wanted. He was protective, steadfast, and was all in.

If you're looking for a sexy age gap office romance, I highly recommend this one.

If every scar tells a story...

    Mine is about surviving.

After a brutal attack at college, I return home for the summer to recover. But my emotional wounds are taking longer to heal than my physical ones.

When I meet Silas, a former MMA champion with a scowl as permanent as the tattoos on his powerful body, asking him to teach me self-defense seems like the perfect idea.

In the gym, our bond grows stronger, and the pain turns to passion. His close proximity unravels my self-control.

Even though he tries to keep me at arm's length, I'm chipping away at his resistance. He thinks he's too old and jaded, but I’m not easily deterred.

He saved me, and now I’m going to fight for us. Because our connection is intense, raw, and dangerously real.

New Release With Review: The Unraveling by Vi Keeland

    July 10, 2024

This chilling, sizzling, and addictive thriller from #1 New York Times bestselling author Vi Keeland follows a New York psychiatrist’s dark descent into dangerous obsession.

    This isn’t a love story.

    It’s a story about obsession.

After experiencing a terrible loss, New York City psychiatrist Meredith McCall feels painfully adrift. When she crosses paths with a man with whom she has a tragic connection, she follows him, sparking an unhealthy obsession with Gabriel Wright. How is he doing so well while her life is in shambles?

But when Gabriel walks into her office as a patient, seemingly unaware of who she is, she knows it crosses all ethical and moral bounds to treat him. Yet, Meredith can’t bring herself to turn him away and becomes further entangled. With her life and career continuing to unravel, it appears that things could not get any worse…until they do.

I should've known that based off the title of the book, that this story was going to be a head scratching, mind game. Who's playing who?

One year ago Meredith experienced a tragic loss that turned her professional and personal world upside down. Still reeling from the loss and trying to pick up the pieces, she's now counting down the days to a sense of normalcy in returning to work. Being a Psychologist in New York is not easy and with everyone constantly on the go, you have to move to their speed.
Getting back to a route will surely do Meredith some good and keep her from pursuing an unhealthy hobby but little does she know, she's in for one big surprise.

I have to say that I really loved the premise of this story and I liked that it was a psychological thriller. We saw the main character at her worst and in that moment, she was fighting to get back a little peace and calm the chaos. With that being said, we also saw her truly hit rock bottom and you start to question if it's self punishment, stupidity, or guilt. Trust begins to evaporate and you're no longer certain if anyone is in their right minds at this point.

    idk-smh

If you're looking for a slightly predictable thriller that will have you questioning everyone's motives, then this one's for you.
