Release Blitz With Review: The Quiet Types by L.H Cosway

    April 25, 2024

Quiet Types by L.H. Cosway is now live!

Maggie Lydon rides the bus to her cleaning job every day. It’s an ordinary existence until she notices him sitting just two rows behind her. She doesn’t know his name, nor anything about him. All she knows is that he watches her and it’s the most exciting part of her week.

Shay Riordan notices her the very first time he takes the bus. She’s captivating, a beauty who moves through the world like no one else can see her, but she’s far from invisible to him. He wants to sit next to her, introduce himself, but it’s hard to do when you can’t speak.

Then, late one Friday evening they both board the bus, and an unexpected occurrence plunges Maggie into Shay’s world, and Shay into Maggie’s.

Quiet Types is a standalone contemporary romance and is book #1 in L.H. Cosway’s Quiet Love Series.

Quiet Types reminded me of a simple romance. The characters stayed true to themselves and for that, we were given a steady ride of their journey.

Maggie Lydon rides the bus to her cleaning job every day and because of those trips, she sees a man that intrigues her. Shay is quiet and keeps to himself but he's always watching her. After finding the courage to strike up a conversation, Maggie learns that Shay is mute. With each passing day on their bus route, Shay and Maggie developed a deep friendship that even with silence, was louder than anything.

I truly enjoyed the beginning of this story. The characters were tip toeing around each other in a sense and I didn't know where it was going to lead to. After reading a few chapters, I quickly realized that this was a slow and steady read but I still felt the anticipation of something MORE. I practically craved it and when that didn't happen, I was disappointed. Don't get me wrong, I liked the characters and the family dynamic but after a while, it became boring. There were no gasp worthy moments that made me want to flip through the pages at warped speed and I felt like I was just reading about someone's day to day life.

Despite thinking that this story was going to be more, this book was the epitome of a truly sweet romance. Straight-forward with the main characters go from getting to know each other one day at a time, to becoming a huge part of each other's inner circle and falling in love. If you're looking for a sweet romance with lovable characters, then this one's for you.

Nothing in my life is going according to plan… and the wriggling poo machine in my arms is unexpectedly worming her way into my heart.

Dr. Dax Cove is on the fast track for doing ground breaking research and nothing is going to get in his way. Until one phone call letting him know that he's now a father, stops him completely in his tracks. Springing into action with the support of his brothers, Dax travels to the U.S for his newborn daughter and he's determined to only provide for her. Forming any bond that will jeopardize time for his research and future plans, will not happen.

Hiring the best nanny to take care of his daughter is proving to be a bit more difficult than expected. When he meets Eira, he immediately thinks that she's too young for the job but fate as it would have it, had other plans. After taking the job on the spot, Eira and Dax decide to work out a system for Dax's daughter to give her the best nurturing so she can thrive even more. That includes one on one time, feeding schedules and family bonding which is going to be more different with the newest addition to the Cove family.

I really loved the evolution of Dax as a father and balancing his work life. He was so determined to do things his way and not form a bond with his daughter but nothing played out the way he wanted it too. Day by day that steel exterior began to melt and not only did we see a different side of him, we saw him vulnerable and a fierce protector. This was the first book that I've read in the series but I truly didn't feel like I was missing anything. I loved the family dynamic and the story flowed well. My only issue was that towards the end, everything felt rushed and too wrapped up in a neat bow. I needed things to slow down a little bit but other than that, I enjoyed this one and I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the spinoff series.

If you're looking for a sexy heartwarming single dad/nanny romance, I highly recommend this one.

BLURB: New York Times bestselling author Skye Warren, delivers the sizzling first book in a brand new trilogy, The Professor, a forbidden, student/professor, ex-boyfriend’s dad romance.   It was supposed to be one night with a handsome stranger. I never thought I would see him again. Until the first day of class.   He’s my new professor. And my ex-boyfriend’s father.   He has a world of secrets in his eyes and the weight of the world on his shoulders. I should stay away from him, but the more I try, the more consumed he gets.   His possessiveness is rivaled only by his secretive nature. He knows everything about me, but mystery surrounds him. Shadows threaten the entire university…and our forbidden love.   “Every page of THE PROFESSOR shines with poetry and eroticism. If you love forbidden romances, secret societies and age gap, this book is for you!” - USA Today bestselling author Saffron A. Kent

I really loved that this was a forbidden romance that had some twists and turns. Not only did the heroine and side characters have a past, but the hero as well. I wanted to go more in depth with the main characters but I liked how the author set everything up letting us know that there's a lot more to come in book two. I definitely didn't like how things ended and I feel like it was rushed to give us a shock value but I'm very curious to see how everything is going to play out.

If you're looking for a steamy forbidden student/ teacher mystery romance, then you should give this one a try.

Please note: This ends on a cliffhanger
